The Gnosis

My long range exploration Anaconda, Polybius, is safely docked with The Gnosis ahead of its jumps towards the permit-locked Cone sector. No real clue what awaits those hitching a ride, but there will no doubt be some furious exploring during the four weeks before she jumps out again. The Gnosis has a Universal Cartographics connection, so pilots will be able to claim 'first discovered by' credit as and when they dock back, so I expect lots of shuttling to and from The Gnosis.

We Lost One

We lost Cmdr Frang today, well at least he lost his ship. I heard his pod got away safely and we've had news back that his insurance has paid out back in Colonia. Apparently he was 'head down' in the external camera suite and hadn't realised he'd switched his ship to silent running. The heat alarms didn't cut through to the suite (someone really should fix that) and he came out to be greeted by zero-rated modules across the board and emergency oxygen for about 90 seconds. He jumped to the repair systems, but the oxygen resupply didn't complete before the end came. Space is a brutal teacher.

Made Elite Explorer today. Heading out to look at the reported mega-ship and stopped at the research station at NGC 7822 Sector BQ-Y d12 on the way. The area is rich in black holes - the several million credits of survey data was enough to reach Elite. A good day.

Cockpit Drama

Took out a 2 ship wing but lost my canopy. Race back to Amundsen Terminal before my supply ran out (knew the investment in the 2A would come in useful!). First time making a planetary landing without the HUD - not an experience I want to repeat anytime soon!
