Note: Yes! We are still accepting new expedition members! Seeing as we were conceived as an alternate route back to the Bubble at the conclusion of DW2 - we shall be accepting Expedition applications at least through end June 2019

Overview: Fresh off my first trip to Beagle Point and the far side of the galaxy via the amazing Distant Worlds 2 Expedition - I am planning a much less direct - slower paced - and yes - much longer - route home...I am hoping there are some other commanders out there with the same general concept in mind - and that we can band (loosely) together and make an expedition of it as well...

The concept for LRH (Long-er Route Home) Expedition grew from thinking about an indirect, outer galactic arm return at the conclusion of DW2 3305 (Distant Worlds 2) - then learning about the previous DECE 3303 Circumnavigation Expedition and building route and POIs from there...Also referenced were the Sagittarius-Carina Mission waypoints, notable EDSM POIs and the monstrous (and as yet uncompleted) "Pilgrimage" POIs list (Nrs. 326-354) and blended all routes together in the most straight-line fashion...Being a less travelled part of the galaxy - the majority of waypoints and basecamps are taken straight from the DECE route (credits in expedition forum post #3)...There is a reference spreadsheet - where you can see the relationship of common waypoints between the various expeditions...

Primary Expedition Goals: 1) Document any new biological or geological phenomenon now detectable via latest DSS Sensor technology 2) Completely scan every F/G/K System visited for Galactic Metallicity Project 3) Scan all detected gas giants to identify & map Metallic or Metal-Rich ring systems to aid Galactic Rescue Services in finding Life Support Synthesis material to mine 4) Explore! Explore! Explore! Hopefully add to the Galactic Mapping Project / EDSM Inventory of unique and spectacular places to visit!

The LRH 3305 expedition will be completed by Commanders reaching the Achrende system in the Bubble - however the route can be completed in three (3) ways:

Route 1 - (Long-ish Road Home): 1st 2/3 Follow DECE - then "straight" return to Bubble via Sagittarius-Carina Mission Waypoints - mainly along the Centaurus Reach (@ 115 kLy to complete - @ 75% of waypoints)

Route 2 - (Long-er Road Home): [Original Concept] Complete DECE Waypoints between Beagle Point and Bubble: Outer Sag-Carina and Perseus Arms / Galactic Extremities (@ 155 kLy to complete - @ 75% of waypoints)

Route 3A - (Long-est Road Home): All V2 Waypoints - then back track outwards on Centaurus Reach - and return to Bubble via V1 / Sagittarius=Carina Mission waypoints (@ 194 kLy - 100% of waypoints) [Note: Route 3A is THE expedition route with respect to the galaxy map]

Route 3B - [Deleted: invalid route as 'completion' WP was not final in sequence]

Starting System: Beagle Point (Beagle Station) Starting Date: May 7, 2019 (ED Date: May 7, 3305)

Ending System: Achrende Ending Date: May 7, 2020 (ED Date: May 7, 3306) [Note - pushed back from original March 14, 2020 (ED Date: March 14, 3306)...." Pi Day "]
