Located about 1000 Ly to the galactic west of the Dragon's Head Nebula, this nebula is of similar size and color, making it a "tail" to the Dragon. Many white dwarf and neutron stars can be found in and near the nebula. A black hole in the reference system provides a unique view of the nebula through the optical lensing effect.
