The journey continues

Commanders log 3309.0516:

It's been a busy few weeks with plenty of travelling done. I've enjoyed steadily hopping between sectors all the way along the border between Odin's Hold and Ryker's Hope. Now finally, I'm a good way into Izanami and enjoying the immense feeling you get when you hear the sweet sound that the scanner makes when you discover anything new in a new sector.

As usual, curiousity has got the better of me all too frequently resulting in tons of scanning, excessive planetary landings and an a good accummulation of exobiological samples.

I'm guessing someone will pay a fair few credits for this lot, so I just have to make sure I get it somewhere in one piece!

Repairs are also in order soon. I'm not too proud to admit that the ship has taken a bump or two. There's been an occasional nudge into a steep mountainside here and there, I've had to do the "loop of shame" on at least 3 or 4 occasions when my impatience has got the better of me, and yesterday I hit a planetary atmosphere fast and hard and got kicked out of supercruise with a bump (and some gratituous hull damage). Okay, so the hull is at 98%, it could be worse, I've not been flying neutron stars, so the ship's in decent shape, but a repair and respray won't hurt.

There's an active carrier about 2000ly away so I think a straight run with no distratcions is the order of the week.

Onward Journey

The very next day

Commanders log 3309.0504:

So a fairly uneventful finish to yesterdays exploration. 20 jumps, lots of ice planets, a couple of biological signals and a water world. Really nothing to write home about just yet.

I get the feeling this could be a long few weeks.

oh yeah, and May the 4th be with you.

The next big jump

Commanders Log 3309.0503:

After weeks of toiling through local sectors of the galaxy I have now reached the long awaited end to part 1 of my journey to the super massive black hole at Sagittarius A.

After taking a few fantastic photos and resting up for a while, it's time to continue to the exploration.

I've decided to visit Colonia, but I'm taking the scenic route through Odin's Hold, then Ryker's Hope, down through Izanami, then down the Inner Orion-Perseus Conflux into the Inner Scutum-Centaurus Arm.

I expect the whole journey will be several hundred jumps and I'm predicting it will take at least a few weeks, mainly because of my curiosity, particularly in systems which appear interesting for no real apparent reason.

I have my trusty Diamond Back Explorer and a formidable 62-LY jump range.
