Hillary Depot

On our route back to Sol the DEEP SARGASSO II stopped briefly at Hillary Depot, one of the outposts closest to the bubble at about 2000 LY. It is a small mining colony outpost with a surprising number of willing VIP passengers. We do have stellar reputation with Colonia which helps.

I will return here with another fleet ship as a base for future sightseeing missions. We have now undocked and are heading to Mammon before final leg towards Sol.

Disaster Strikes: Neutron Star

So it had to happen DA classed neutron star pulled the DEEP SARAGASSO into to its hazardous environment and before we had a chance to pull her out, total destruction followed. Over 100 millions worth of navigation data was lost along with several codices. New ship reinstated at last visited station, 20k away. The DEEP SARAGASSO II now makes it way back toward Sol.

Lesson learned.

A side effect of the new ship is the remapped controls. The HOTAS stick have been remapped with X controlling YAW instead of rotation. It is mildly confusing at the moment but by the time we arrive back in the bubble should be natural. Goal - to improve combat efficiency with fixed weapons.

Sagittarius A* and Explorer's Anchorage

The DEEP SARGASSO docked with Explorer's Anchorage today before taking the one required jump into Sagittarius A*. The vista is amazing but with little else to see quickly completed.

We are running slightly out of steam so pushing onward north towards Beagle Point does not seem like a viable route. Instead we will veer of eastward, heading toward Phoi Screia GG-Y f314 before plotting a course back to Sol.

Blackholes, Tourist stations and Fleet Carriers

Today the DEEP SARAGASSO arrived at the black hole at SHROGEA MH-V E2-1763. It is a beautiful sight and fully understandable that a tourist station is located to bask in its glory. It lacks docking support so commanders are instead pressed to use the nearby Victory-Class Carrier Cape Traverse for any refueling or repairs.

The DEEP SARAGASSO executed a quick refueling at the carrier and then pushed onward north towards the galactic center. Estimate another 70 jumps to cross the last 4500 LY to the center core.

Short pitstop at the DSSA Void Crusaders

Always pushing further northward towards the center of the galaxy we have made a short pitstop at the DSSA VOID CRUSADERS for minor repairs and a new coat of paint.

There is little else to do at the fleet carrier but we appreciate the possibility of repairs. The stop will be very short and we will continue northward towards GREAE PHIO VK-O E6-4343 where a secluded luxury tourist resort is rumored to be hidden next to a black hole. It is about 4783 LY away or around 70-80 jumps with the DEEP SARAGASSO.

During our trek we are continuously scouting for certain materials that are running low (arsenic, nickel and zink).

Avoiding low-gravity planets

After a frustrating excursion to a 0.04g planet to gather iron, nickel and arsenic - I've come to the conclusion to avoid these low gravity planets for all foreseeable future.

The material shoot up into the sky when shot and takes forever to slowly float down to the ground. The SRV spins, somersaults and generally behaves annoying when driving around.

I don't have this kind of patience. It will be heavy planets in the future. My preferred gravity seem to be 1-3g for optimal performance.

Out in the Deep

After a couple of days in the bubble and roaming around the core systems trying to make sure all engineers are ready to help out it is time to get out into the blackness again.

This time I am taking the DEEP SARGASSO northward and quite possible all the way to the center of the galaxy.

After a failed attempt at a landing to mine some IRON and NICKEL, I've decided to make a short stop at the deep outpost MORGAN'S ROCK.

The HE BO Canister Incident

I just returned to He Bo from a long Painite mining excursion in my refitted Beluga Liner hoping to return to freight basic and advanced medicines to the needing.

We quickly stored the Beluga Liner and deployed the Type-7 for a long-range medicine haul and in my eagerness I forgot that all the remaining limpets was transferred to said ship. While the autopilot guided us out of the station, I realized this error and ordered to jettison all the limpets.

The comscreen flashed with accumulated fines for littering inside the space station... I guess having an XO onboard after long mining hauls would be good to belay me from stupid commands...

I decided to wait with the fines and take it on my return. However my planned heroic return with advanced medicines will perhaps be slightly tarnished...

Visiting the Farsight Expedition Base in the Heart Nebula

I have refitted my old Asp Explorer with deep space equipment and module, and the rechristened DEEP SARAGASSO now has a frame shift range of 65 Light Years. The first exploration trip in order to gather sufficient data to become allied with the Alliance took the Saragasso down southward to the Heart Nebula. Nestled there lies a small mining base.

It is rather uninteresting but at least have the repair facilities available to take care of any module stress. I will use this base at a later date to restock and repair any neutron star damage received.

The Deep Saragasso will now make a beline towards the nearby Soul Neubla where another base can be found before making it back to the bubble with exploration data.

Assisting the Federation

With the recent attacks against humanity in the core systems, RESCUE ONE, has been ferrying people from flaming starports to nearby rescue ships.

With most of the people in safety, the next phase commences - medic supplies for the survivors. The Pilot Federation awards assisting pilots G5 engineered modules as rewards.

We will take our our HEAVY TYPE-9 "Big Bertha" to run supply runs for as long as is necessary.
