Repairs on the road

I stopped in the glorious light of a neutron star to do some repairs. It wasn't really critical, but my FSD suffered a bit of damage and wear due to continous usage and dropping out of SC in the BEZ of a different neutron star.

Onwards!

Leaving Colonia

On the road again. After a bit of break, I took off once more towards Sagittarius A*. A new paint job and a new Covas will accompany me, also two AFMUs and a shield . Managed to find units in the systems around Colonia, which did not affect my jump range. Decided it is for the best to get an SRV as well, which might come in handy if I need materials to synthesize ammo for the AFMUs.

Currently heading towards the World of Death. Might not try to land on the planet, as it is said to be a very tricky manouver, but I wanted to see it.

I arrived, and the system looked calm. No indication of the usual devourment that happens here every hour. Could have landed I suppose, but I did not risk it, went as close as I could to the little planet, and took some pictures.

As the white dwarf's jets get closer and closer to shower the planet surface with near light speed particles, I turn my ship around, facing my next destination, and I find myself gazing towards the very edge of the galaxy, Beagle point.

Who knows...?

Colonia

Made it to Colonia in one piece. Beautiful place, however in a way I am not happy I had to come here because this wasn't planned. I fitted two AFMS units and an extra heatsink launcher for good measure, and I fixed my FSD. I also decided to drop off the data I have collected so far: 91 366 933 Credit gain. I figured I will get more data on my way to Sag A and then back to the bubble, and I can drop that in empire space for ranks.

Also named my trusty little ship. But now I need a rest.

Straight line run

Not even bothering to scan anymore, only planets that are screaming at me from the system maps, and are not too far away. Approximately after every 15 jumps my FSD malfunctions. I am seriously concerned. The health only dropped 1% since my last check - that is due to the last neutron jump I attempted, which almost failed spectacularly. Managed to supercharge after three runs at the jet, then my FSD malfunctioned, and it would not come back online. I had to leave supercruise and reengage to be able to make the jump. Since then, I've been running approx. 46lys per jumps, no Njumps. I am also debating dropping off my scan data at Colonia.

Still I did do a little bit of in-system exploration, and seen a couple of cool little things. But I am not doing any detours before I get to a station.

To Colonia we must go

Turned my ship towards Colonia for repairs and outfitting. As it stands, my FSD is at 76% health, so no change there, however, it was malfunctioning after a simple, non-neutron jump. So I made the immediate decision to head towards a station and repair my ship, and pick up AFMUs. From there I will set off towards Sag A*, and plot route to the points of interest I still have left in my bookmarks.

I came across a pair of White dwarves. Left them jets alone, given the state of my FSD already, I rather chose safer routes. Them things have massive BEZs.

The Speamoea IV

I visited the famous system, in which four earth like worlds reside. God that planet would give such an amazing night sky with that backdrop.

I also have to adjust my travels slightly, as my FSD drive took some beating from all the neutron jumps. It is at 76%, and everytime I charge it drops a bit, and malfunctions. So far it is just annoying, but I dare not risk it. Rather take longer routes not using Njumps, and play it safe. On my way back I have to consider dropping in at Colonia for repairs. Which I already thought about actually.

Keelblack Rings and the Mylaifai Nebula

The Keelblack Rings is an incredibly big ring system around this one gas giant, hidden in deep space. As I ventured closer, I took a risk, and jumped out of system through the disk itself. Found myself on the way to the Mylaifai Nebula. Inside it was dark, the galactic core completely hidden behind the thick dust, but the dense star formation in this region of space shined through.

So far, I have done 22500 lys+ in under 460 jumps. Not bothered about not going straight to Sag A. It is worth to see all this.

As I descend

Many many jumps between waypoints, and I keep thinking to myself; why aren't I going straight to the center? Is this wise, making this journey take so much more longer than it should have? I could have been there already.

And then I keep saying to myself, I am discovering a part of this universe, that I have not yet seen, and who knows if I ever will see again? Now is the time to take detours, explore, take pictures. The goal is the same, but the path is what matters. It is also that will make this journey even more colourful, more exciting, and all-in-all, more lucrative. Can't deny it, I am also doing it for the money I will get in the end.

But the sights are what making this worth it.

Unpleasant surprise

Well I certainly did not expect that kind of a surprise. As I entered the system shrouded by blue gasclouds, my ship did notify me of the black hole that awaited me on the other end of the jump. I was actually ready to move my vessel in some direction, away from the black hole. But I literally had no chance, whatsoever.

enter image description here

But I must admit, the sights I have seen on my way here, as well as this nebula in the system, that colours everything bluish and purple, is a gift to my eyes. Not to mention that the red nebula I just left behind can still be easily seen on the backdrop. Just amazing.

The Froarks Nebula

Another red cloud shrouds my ship from the galactic core - this time, it is the Froarks Nebula. Appearing on the map as a pink-red medium sized dustcloud, this wonderful place has quite a few pulsars in front of it, so jumping in the middle once you reach it is easy. Once in the middle, you can hardly see the core area, everything appears red and pink.

Amazing place to visit, anyone around who haven't been here yet I do recommend checking it out. As for me... I think this trip to the SMBH will be longer than I ever expected, especially now that I have found a scenic route planner. I managed to find around 10 different places closeby that are worthy of checking out. So now I turn away from this place, and head off to a planetary nebula, around 700lys away.
