just back from a nice trip up to Racham's Peak. loaded up with 8000t of wine which I got at a bargain price of 16cr per T at a station in an Infrastucure failure system. with 15000 t of tritium plotted a course for the KFC 17 jumps. sold the wine up there for $33953 per T which more than covered the costs of the return trip Used about 200t tritium each way. and of course the 100000 cr per jump (34). if I had stayed up there until the public Holiday the wine would have sold for 287k per T but with threat of a blockade and having to wait 3 weeks. I decided to return to gcrv 1568 where I have been quietly mining Panite until I decide where to head next. It was a nice view from up there but only having a medium landing pad the unloading was a pain in the arse. lots of docking permission denied. still eventually got unloaded. Hate to think what it's like during the 2 day holiday. well will carry on and check in again after my next cruise to nowhere.

the Kfc lives

Well here we are again 6 months on and moving forward. After some combat attempts not much has advanced towards the Triple but I will get there. Having recently purchased my Fleet Carrier the KFC (XNX-LVG) I have loaded about 1000t of tritium and have loaded my entire fleet on board. Moving out of the bubble to Synuefai WC-T C20-13 which looks like a good spot for mining with numerous High value hotspots I will concentrate on getting some credits in the Carrier budget to cover maintenance before deciding where to next.

A long hard year.

It's been over a year since my last log and have we all had a tough time. with the pandemic etc. but Humanity will survive. I decide not to take the DBx on the perseus expidition but worked up a motorised TukTuk to replace my trusty Van from the DW2. Yep I built and engineered a Hauler. With 43 ly range she has the same legs as the van so here we go with Nagi out to Beagle point and beyond once again. It was a fun trip with the Xbox crowd. Home again after some adventures I carried on my trading/mining/Passenger missions looking to fund my Fleet Carrier the KFC. Decided to do the DSSa deployement expidition with Dr Nagi's Meow force one out to the perseus region to help mine tritium fuel along the way. to Anny my long range mining Conda with a set of travelling modules in the outfitting hold. Wher to now its January 2021 and almost at my target Bank balance of 10 Billion Credits. Still haven't got the elusive triple. I must go do some combat. anyway. enough for now.

Engineering the Gun

well I made it back sold my data and thought ok the kiwijumper is ready for the perseus reach expedition next year. Now what to do. ok lets go do some bounty hunting in resource extraction sight. I need to improve my combat skills and my pilot federation ranking. At the moment I am double Elite, Trade and Exploration but only Expert. So lets grab my Trusty Krait the Tainui and do it. Some weeks later I'm still having fun but feel the need for a more dedicated Dakka Dakka machine with more fire power. The Tainui is built for multipurpose. I have always wondered about Core Dynamics three little piggies. As I use my Slf a lot lets look at the federal gunship with 1 large 4 medium and 2 small hardpoints plus the fighter bay she might be what I'm looking for. after engineering on the Kiwijumper and on the tainui I'm going to need some materials for the engineers so off we go. we've got plenty of manufactured from collecting high grade signal sources as well as wreckage from the resource sights but woefully short on data. Ok off to jameson crash site. (HIP 12099 1B) fill up the 4 datas slots and as a bonus collect Beryllium to help cover the costs. jump to the material trader at Diaguandri - Ray Gateway, trade then repeat. Time to visit the engineers. I have the required blueprints pinned but for those final tweeks (the experimental effects) a personal visit to Tod the blaster, Broo tarquin and Hera tan. ok as it stands the Engines are G5 dirty with drag drives, the power plant G5 armoured and monstered. I have multicannons (G5 overcharged with autoloader) in the large and 2 of the medium slots, and Burst lasers (G5 efficient with scramble spectrum modifier) in the other 2 medium and 2 small slots. back to jamesons crash for some more data enough for now lets go play some more to gather more manufactured materials to engineer the shield armour etc FLY DANGEROUSLY COMMANDERS

back to safety

well that was a heart stopping arse clenching moment. Still not sure how it happened but last night I managed to get trapped in the cone of a neutron star. With fires breaking out around me modules failing hull temperature soaring I struggled to escape. thrown around like a leaf I attempted to get the jumper lined up with the core of the star directly astern then boosted all pips in engines all non essentials turned off . the canopy cracked as i hit supercruise and held as i slowly acceleratd away with temperature soaring.as soon as at the minimum safe distance exit suprcruise to get the temperature down. A large Whisky later started to survey the damage all modules down under 70 % some including the canopy under 60,Hull at 27 whoo that was close. . ok lets some repairs get everything air tight first Afmu on repair Canopy. cargo hatch and then work through in order of decreasing importance. ok 3 afmu refills later things are looking good. synth some repair limpets and fix the hull. well the ships as good as I can get it. all repaired except of course amfu down at 74% and pp at 55%. Now where am I nearest starport with Repair facilities Caravanserai in the Gandharvi system. 185 jumps ok here's hoping the powerplant holds. 800 mil+ in exploration data on board I will be having a major celebration if I make it

Beyond the Rift 4

Well it's nice to see the void brightening up ahead of me as i make my erratic way back to civilisation. After a lot of manual plotting and plenty of jumponium I made it out to Manifest Destiny. Signed the visitors book as number 67, plotted my way back out and decided to leave the trip out to Star one for another day. The Kiwijumper is performing faultlessly so as this is only a shakedown cruise time to head back in. Tossed a coin and am now heading towards Colonia. Still honking Fssing and mapping anything interesting as I go along so not in any hurry, still enjoying being out in the black. EDSM estimates 700 mil so far with 28k ly still to go. On the arx front exploration doesn't do so well. Haven't come close to the 400 weekly cap.

Beyond the Rift 4

That was a nice break from deep space. I have been SRV mining for materials for the last couple of days, very successfully I might add. now have a full load of premium jumponium and most of my other materials are topped up. as I approach Manifest destiny I will need the boosts. The nav computer can't plot there directly so i have picked a system about 1k ly away from my target then will see how we go. The ship is performing flawlessly though the paintwork is showing some scrapes, It will look a lot worse before we see civilisation again.

Beyond the Rift 3

1st of November. 30,000 ly from sol wandering thu the outer arm exploring my way towards the Bludgu Depot.only 18 jumps and i will take a break and top up my germanium and arsenic at the depot. Been an uneventful trip so far plenty of undiscovered systems and lots of high paying waterwords, terraformables etc. EDSM estmates 400 mil so far . nice that will put me above 3 billion credits if i can get back intact. ok onwards and outwards still heading roughly in the direction of the Manifest Destiny

beyond the rift 2

we're definitely getting out towards the rim now, the galaxy is a thin bright line astern of me and the stars are thinning out ahead. My target is the white walkers nightmare. the name appeals as does the photo in the galmap. once there it will be decision time. clockwise, counter or return to the bubble. my little ship is still performing faultlessly and after a little bit of planetary mining a few systems ago I have a full load of premium jumponium. ok enough for now time to have a bite to eat and a siesta

Beyond the rift

Even though I know i'm closer to the bubble than I was at Beagle Point it sure doesn't feel like it. I suppose the difference is the 10,000 other commanders on DW2. without the support of the Squadron, The Fleetcom chat, weekend Base camps and other shenanigans I never felt lonely. As the stars thin out and the Galaxy receeds behind me I feel a lot more isolated. No Fuel rats no Hull seals or Kingfishers tagging along just me and my ship the Kiwijumper. My new ride is a vast improvement over the old delivery van I did DW2 in, with a jump range of 70+ ly compared to the 41 I had she's well worth the time spent visiting the Engineers. Ok my first ever log entry to record my trip. It started out as a Shakedown trip to the Zurara, I thought that would be appropriate for Halloween to visit the Ghosts of the rift. then decided to check out the abandoned surface site around the rift. there definitely is something strange about the story that unfolds. now I've decided to keep heading rimwards. No plans just see where Time and Tide and the winds of fate take me
