GTC Discovery - CMDR Chreden reporting

Systipeia RE-Y c17-0 - 21740.09375 / -101.78125 / 27855.90625

This is a brief entry to note that I will now be scanning asteroid belt clusters. This will require returning to some previously covered systems. These systems have been bookmarked and will be visited when convenient.

Flimbuae FO-B B13-3 - 18442.15625/-1.125/27375.75

I have successfully rendezvoused with CMDR KIRK854 in Flimbuae TS-U D2-59. We then travelled to the nearby Flimbuae FO-B B13-3 and explored the system. It is a system with four stars - one M and three Ls.

There are several landable planets in the system - we landed and explored in our SRVs. The landing site was on a mountain and we carefully made the descent to the lowlands.

We also performed an aerial search of a canyon system in search of silicate vapour geysers. Our search was fruitless, but enjoyable nonetheless.

I’ve set course to return to Systipeia to continue the survey mission. CMDR KIRK854 is going to stay here for a short time and then continue on to the bubble. I wish him good luck. It was good to see another human out in the black, if only for a short time.

Systipeia DC-B d14-0 - 22589.9375/-652.875/28300.03125

I have conducted an initial exploration of the lower areas of the Systipeia sector, in order to evaluate ease of traversal of the area with the jump range capabilities of this ship.

I was forced to use several level 1 FSD injections at around -500 in order to progress. This allowed me to hop between several ‘islands’ of systems. I explored these systems until I reached my current location.

Systipeia DC-B d14-0 is an uninteresting system, with one F type star and two K type stars.

At this point I’ve decided to end this exploration of the lower areas and return to the higher density area of the sector, due to the lack of supplies for level 2 and 3 FSD injections.

In this initial probing I have found that the Systipeia sector ends at around 28370z. On the return journey to the higher density area, I will search for arsenic deposits to allow for more level 3 FSD injections.

Systipeia PX-B c16-0 - 22090.46875/-55.8125/27812.25

I have arrived at Systipeia PX-B c16-0 where I will begin an in depth exploration of the Systipeia sector, located near the Hipparcos Basin in the east of the galaxy.

The journey to this system was uneventful and involved travel from the bubble towards the outer core where I picked up the neutrons to travel north eastwards, eventually falling back to normal travel for the final 10KLY.

The Systipeia sector is roughly 2KLY east of the system in which I will rendezvous with deep space explorer CMDR KIRK854, who is currently returning from Beagle Point. I’ll return to the RV system (OOSCS CHREA WT-H C10-2) when he approaches.

Many of the systems in Systipeia are remote and will most likely require FSD injections to reach, even though my maximum range is 62.5LY. Where possible, I will attempt to minimise use of FSD injections in order to conserve resources. Systems currently out of reach will be noted for future exploration.
