The only sour note has been the pirates and other agitators congregating around Bacon City to prey on the traders and revellers travelling to and from the starport. United Carnoeck for Equality, the event's sponsors, are eager to clear the spaceways of these disruptive elements, and the faction has set aside a significant cash fund to reward pilots who eliminate the troublemakers.

Scientists based at Newholm Station in the Sothis system have discovered a new metalloid called Sothis Crystalline Gold.

The material is produced by exposing ordinary gold to gas emitted by the thermal vents lining the seabeds of Sothis A5 and Sothis A6.

The scientists of Newholm Station are eager to conduct further tests on this new material, but to do so they will need more gold. To help with this effort, Federation Unite! is offering a series of incentives to pilots who deliver Gold to Newholm Station.

Pirates operating in the Amitrite system have begun targeting transports carrying refugees from the war-torn Pegasi sector. The refugee transports have been stopping in Amitrite to refuel en route to a resettlement centre in the Munshin system, leaving them vulnerable to attack.

The Imperial Navy and the Defence Force of Amitrite have placed bounties on these pirates in an effort to eliminate the danger to the refugees. Independent pilots with combat experience are encouraged to travel to the Amitrite system and make the spaceways safe again.
