Tree Collision Expedition

During our expedition, we scanned and mapped 55Mcr worth of stars and planets, and explored the surface of two planets. I got to see some barnacles, but unfortunately all of the sites I looked at were no longer ripe.

This expedition was so named due to the various accidental collisions leading up to and during this first expedition. The experiences and funds gained during this expedition will set us up for going deeper into space in the future.

Tree Collision Expedition

Dad and I are heading out for our first joint expedition. This will be a Road-to-Riches expedition from Deciat to Pleiades Sector GH-L b8-0 (where I hope to pluck some ripe barnacles).

Expedition prepped

We are prepared for our first expedition, not yet named, to... someplace TBD. One Explorabelugia and one Exploration Hauler will set out later this week to a nearby nebula to see the sights and find some earthlike worlds. Hopefully, we will head out on a path that has Thargoid planetary sites or barnacles within striking distance. I haven't personally encountered either of these, but I would at least like to collect some meta-alloys for Felicity, so I can make some improvements to my jump drive.

Home again

I departed Nisgayo on Nov 15, 2017, 5:56:39 AM, and returned on Jun 13, 2020, 5:56:07 AM.

I'm back in the bubble to do some messing about and exploring with family. Should be fun!

Heat Stopped

Frak.

I've heard of this happening to other people, but it's never quite happened to me this way before. I'm not a stranger to close binary stars, and the hazards of dropping in trapped between two death-dealing heat monsters. My shop runs cool, and I'm well stocked on heatsinks. What is new to my is dropping out of jump by passing DIRECTLY THROUGH the center of one of those stars.

I hereby rename Flyiedgiae CQ-Y d10 the Pit Stop of Death. It has everything you'd need for your space truck. A main sequence star to scoop from, a neutron star to boost from, and if you are jumping in from Flyiedgiae GW-W d1-2 when star B is in the right position... a heart attack.

Homeward Bound

Well, all good things must come to a new end, to make room for new beginnings. I am about to embark on the long trip back home, down the neutron highway so meet an old friend and new pilot in the bubble. I've had some great adventures out here in Colonia, but it's time to sell my Colonia fleet, ship up in my trusty Asp Explorer, and head on out.

Colonia Life

I've been living in Colonia for about a year now. Life here is much like the bubble, except everything is smaller. I don't mind it.

Journey to the Center of the Galaxy: Sagittarious A*

After reaching Athaip MB-S b35-30 (after a fairly lengthy break), I had a much better idea. Sagittarious A* is almost on the way to Colonia. Why not go and visit the supermassive black hole at the center of it all?

Two days later, I'm sitting at SagA's doorstep. My FSD and shields are repaired to tip-top shape, and I'm one jump out.

Here we go!

Amazing. The way the bodies behind the black hole are collected around the rim is fascinating, as is how the light distorts within the black hole itself.

Now, I'm off to Colonia.

Minerva Centaurus Expedition Time Completed

Well, the expedition completed without me. I finished 5 our of 16 legs of the expedition, which isn't too bad. I still made it out 34kly from Sol, which is the furthest out I've ever been. I'd like to head to Colonia, which was my ultimate destination anyway.

I punched this into my external plotter, and it directed me to Colonia by way of Athaip MB-S b35-30. I have the course to Athaip MB-S b35-30 plotted now on my onboard computer, and it estimates 632 jumps, keeping to scoopable stars. That'll get me 2/3 of the way there.

Off we go.

Minerva Centaurus Expedition Leg 5 - Oob Chrea CV-U b30-3

I took a brief break, and as a result I'm not sure if I'm going to finish this expedition... but I'll fly as hard and fast as I can as the expedition comes to a close!
