CMDR Bullet profile > Logbook

(Mandalay)

Today I made thirty-one jumps. The most notable, besides the two black holes and three neutron stars was the system Phraa Flyuae DL-Y g8. This system was the only system I wasn't the first to discover today. It consisted of three huge, very bright blue white stars. The A star being a scoopable O type and the B and C stars were both scoopable B stars. There were no other bodies other than the three stars, but it was still a remarkable system. I was impressed.
The black holes still freak me out, but I safely passed by them with no troubles. I don't like to drop out of supercruise near a black hole, call me weird. Neutron stars I have no problem with, however. White dwarfs are a little freaky too, but I just give them a wide birth like I do for black holes and I'm fine. I think most pilots feel this way, but I could be wrong.
I believe tomorrow may be the last day of my journey. I am so close now. Soon, I should start to see systems that have been discovered before me. That is when I will just hammer down to Anchorage. I'm ready to relax for a bit.
Alright, enough said.
CMDR Bullet out..
I only made ten jumps today. I wasn't feeling all that great. I still did the regular exobiology trips when needed but I just wasn't feelin' it. I didn't do any extended jumps today keeping them all on economical, so I virtually made no forward progress really. I can't remember the last time I made so few jumps and so little progress. Oh well, I blame it on the leftovers..
The planet I'm camped on tonight, or rather moon, has five exo signatures and I found them all before calling it a day. So now I'm going to take something to settle my stomach and try to relax for a few. Maybe I can watch a movie later if my stomach settles down. Hopefully I can get back to business tomorrow.
CMDR Bullet out..
I made twenty-one jumps today, eighteen of which were in economical mode. I was hoping to catch a lot of big number exobiology worlds, but I only found a lot of ones and twos. I actually stopped for several twos today, believe it or not. Three of the worlds had Electricae Radialem on them. I haven't seen that species in years then to see it three times in one day, what are the odds? That ought to be worth a chunk of change at Vista Genomics.. Stopping for worlds with less than three biologicals is very time consuming and is not my style but it paid off today. Perhaps I should make it a habit to check them once in a while although I do try to make them my camp world for the night each night.. We shall see.
Looking on the galactic map, I didn't make much progress. When one is making 1.5 to 3.5LY jumps when one usually makes 78LY jumps, it looks odd when I see it on the map. I actually could have made it to Explorer's Anchorage today if I had pushed it and not stopped for any exo.. But that's not like me, I just have to get out there and collect the samples. That's why I'm here after all. It's all about the exobiology and I have a feeling I am going to do quite well when I turn in this round of data to Vista Genomics in a few days, if I make it..
Looking over critical systems, everything is doing great except for the hull being down 9%, but that's alright. I've calmed down on the boosting to the surface. I'm too close to the end with too much data to lose if I fork up now so easy does it.
Alright, I've covered all the important data in this log entry, time for dinner and a beer, a movie and some shut eye.
CMDR Bullet out..
Twenty easy jumps today with moderate exobiology runs along the way, that's what kind of day this shaped up to be. I'm not complaining one bit about that kind of day. I needed an easy day after all the running around I've been doing lately. In fact, there was only one neutron star encounter today along with several very unremarkable star systems. I'd love two more easy days like today and then roll into Explorer's Anchorage in fairly decent shape rather than all worn out..
Tonight, I parked the Lonestar right on top of a patch of bacterium. I didn't even have to take a step to sample it. Afterward, I did break out the Scarab to round up the remaining two samples. I didn't feel like flying around to look for more. I'm parked for the night on this moon of a ringed purple gas giant. This moon has only one exo signature so after I found two more samples, I came back to make some dinner and kick my feet up and watch a movie.
So that about does it for this log, quick and easy, like my day.
CMDR Bullet out..
Today I made several jumps to reach the Agnairy VO-R 2758 Nebula I referenced in an earlier log entry. The central A star is a Neutron star. Unfortunately, my flight log computer suffered from some sort of error. It only recorded the last three entries of today's trip which included the neutron star at the center of the nebula. At least that got recorded. I hope that doesn't happen again. I now have about 50 or so jumps to go until I reach Explorer's Anchorage at maximum jump. I'm sure I will use economical at some points along the way when things get interesting, but I should arrive early next week I figure at this rate.
I broke out the Scorpion this afternoon hunting down Recepta in some seriously steep mountainous regions of a moon. I am so happy I had the foresight to bring one of each SRVs along just for this reason. The Scorpion is so sure footed in just this type of terrain. I can't stress enough to every explorer to bring one of each. You'll be happy you did, trust me.
I still can't believe I left that moon without finding any Osseus. It usually just takes a long time to find three samples, but I couldn't even find ONE to sample, and I made three trips into orbit to find new locations to search. Seriously, I don't like Osseus.
Well, I've settled on a geologically active planet for the evening as I couldn't find any bio planets and I was getting tired. I scraped together some leftovers and an ice-cold beer and now I am watching some lava spouts. My eyes are tired which means no videos tonight so, I think will just hit the sack so I'm ready for tomorrow's set of jumps.
CMDR Bullet out..
I spotted a beautiful nebula in the Agnairy sector, so I deviated my course a bit to check it out. Wow, the exobiology in the area is off the chart. I didn't make much progress to the nebula today because of all the stops to find and catalogue the exo along the way. There is so much of it, I am wondering if I will even get there tomorrow. I am making economical jumps of 1.5 to 3.5LY jumps all the way and every jump yields massive exobiology opportunities and I'm not passing those up. Also, I discovered two black holes and no less than 5 neutron stars today. One of the black holes was the host of three of those neutron stars. That system was Agnairy AA-A G532, just in case any CMDRs wish to visit that eerie star system. Personally, it gave me the creeps, I don't like black holes..
Everything else checks out OK with the Lonestar except for the 9% hull damage I took a few days ago slamming into the ground after not paying attention.. I'm living with that. Everything else is A-OK. Just a few more days to Explorer's Anchorage.
Tonight, I'm resting easy on the third moon of a ringed gas giant. Too bad I can't see it in the sky right now. I just finished finding six of seven of the biologicals on this moon. Of course, the last to find is osseus.. I'm going to skip it this time as I spent nearly an hour looking for it and never saw one. As I said before, osseus is my least favorite exo to find.
So, time for a little dinner and a beer, maybe a video and then off to sleep. Tomorrow is around the corner.
CMDR Bullet out..
I made 21 jumps today on my way to Explorer's Anchorage. I'd say that's progress. I picked up some interesting exobiology over several different planets and moons including the moon I am camped out on tonight. I had fun in the scarab hunting down the frutexa growing in the mountains near where I am currently at now. Running down the exo out on the plains is not really a challenge like mountain crawling is.
I must say my least favorite exo to chase down has to be osseus. I don't know why but it's just a pain in the ass to locate for me.. I don't seem to have trouble finding any other exobiological except for osseus. No point going on about it, it is what it is.
I discovered three neutron stars within my 21 jumps today and I also found a Wolf-Rayet star however, that star had already been discovered by someone else.. Funny how that works. There were no other bodies in the Wolf-Rayet system until I got there, then it was the Lonestar and the lone star. When I left the system, it was just the lone star again..
All in all, I'd say it was a very good day. I hope tomorrow is as productive as today was, even more. Time for some food and relaxation.
CMDR Bullet out..
As I make my way toward Sag. A and Explorer's Anchorage I wonder how many other explorers are out here with me, around me, near me.. Doing the same thing as I am, exploring the unknown and discovering rather than tying their lives up in personal turmoil and having to get one over on the next guy.
Today I made much better progress than I did yesterday in that I made sixteen jumps. While that's not too many more than six, I did stop for quite a few exobiologicals. twenty-eight in total over five planets for the day. I like to keep them busy at Vista Genomics and, since they are all 'first footfalls', there is that 5x multiplier working for me. As a matter of fact, all of my Vista Genomics submissions will be first footfall submissions and thus all come with the 5x multiplier. I also found an earthlike planet today! I was happy about that.
Once again, I banged into a planet hard.. Not paying attention to what I am doing is what I'll chalk that one up to. The planet wasn't even a high gravity planet either. It took all of my shield and 10% of my hull. I am not going to repair my hull with limpets yet as I am about halfway to Sag. A. There may be a carrier nearby that I can dock with and make repairs, if so, I will do that. If not, I will use a limpet if I lose more hull. That is why I'd like a fleet carrier.. I am reasonably sure I will be leasing a fleet carrier on my next trip back to Tir, (Colonia).
Tonight, I am camped on a little moon orbiting a ringed purple gas giant. It has gas vents shooting off all around for entertainment. Dinner was raviolis with plenty of grated parmesan and a Vernors ginger soda imported from Earth (I have a 6 pack).
Tomorrow will be more of the same routine as today and hopefully, just as productive. Until then I'll listen to the sound of the gas vents outside as I drift off to sleep
CMDR Bullet out..
Did you ever have one of those days where you just didn't want to put any effort into something? Well, today was that day. I just didn't feel like putting any distance between myself and Tir. I made a total of six jumps and stopped on a planet with six exobiologicals on it. After finding them all including Frutexa way up in the mountains, I settled in on an overlooking peak with a nice view. I will have a nice dinner with a beer and a video before I'll be passing out for the night. Tomorrow I'll make up for lost time.
Nothing else new to add to this log entry other than the Mandalay is operating at peak performance. She does what I ask each and every time. What more could I want?
CMDR Bullet out..
I only made nine jumps today. I got a late start as I slept in. That's not like me but I'm not complaining. I ended up on a little frozen moon with four life forms.. After tracking them all down within an hour or so I just surveyed the moon for a while in the Mandalay, chose a nice spot to camp and set down for the night.
Nothing remarkable about this world and I'll be moving on in the morning.
