CNE The Return - ELW

After three days at the Crab Nebula, I decided it was time to head home.

On my second day travelling, I found my first undiscovered Earth-Like World for the trip: Qiedeau BR-U d3-15 4.

In the same system, on Qiedeau BR-U d3-15 1 a, I spent some time driving the SRV around. This part of the world (48.6290/-7.6622) was a distinctive two-tone colour.

CNE WP10 The Crab Nebula

At last, the Crab Nebula was just a few jumps away.

Crab Nebula

The final waypoint, WP10 "Crab Stadium", was on Crab Sector IH-V c2-3 A 11 a at -28.99/-36.00.

WP10 meetup site

Barnard's Loop is still visible against the galaxy, even at this distance.

I'll spend a few days here before heading home.

CNE WP9

WP9 "Last Chance Saloon" was on Monkey Head Sector KC-V c2-3 1 at -18.00/47.06.

Last Chance Saloon

Large in the sky was the Monkey Head Nebula.

Next stop - the Crab Nebula, the expedition destination.

CNE WP8

WP8 "Sierra's Ridge" was on Jellyfish Sector DL-Y d50 7 b at 73.67/26.25.

WP8

This meetup site was close to the Jellyfish Nebula.

CNE Pyurks ELW

Not long after leaving WP7, I discovered an Earth-Like World Pyurks EW-C d43 B 4.

There were two Water Worlds too.

CNE WP7

The pace picked up for the next waypoint. A bit over 2,000Ly from the previous waypoint, WP7 "Lizard Point" was on Rosette Sector HW-W c1-3 A 2 c at 45.66/174.21.

The Rosette Nebula was clearly visible over the meetup site.

Lizard Point

Normally moons orbit in line with rings (if present). The meetup moon is on quite an inclined orbit.

CNE WP6

WP6 "Rex's Folly" was on Seagull Sector MX-U c2-3 9 a at 0.35/133.74.

WP6 meetup

Barnard's Loop is getting smaller...

WP6 meetup

The Seagull Nebula is close by, but not visible at the time of the meet.

CNE WP5

WP5 "Camp Thor" was on ALS 299 6 d at -35.54/161.37. This site has a good view of Thor's Helmut Nebula.

Camp Thor

The meetup was the next night.

WP5 meetup

Quite a few commanders turned up. SRV headlight beams look really good in the dark.

CNE WP4

WP4 in the 2MASS J06410581+0952478 system was cancelled due to it being surrounded by permit-locked systems added since the expedition was originally planned.

On the way to WP5, I found a great view of some rings, I think the system was Oochoxt JV-F b30-0, and the view is most likely of body "AB 4" from "AB 4 a".

CNE WP3

The WP3 "Bluff Point" meetup was scheduled the night before I arrived. It was on Trapezium Sector DQ-X c1-9 12 a at 14.0/143.6.

Barnard's Loop is very close here.

The nearby gas giant looked like a giant marble ready to roll down the canyon.
