Silbergeschoss

Today is the day I leased a personal Brewer Fleet Carrier. I have named her the Silbergeschoss or, the Silver Bullet. Wow, what a learning curve this thing is going to be. I am glad I waited to get one quite frankly. I have watched a lot of video feeds of CMDRs using and interacting with theirs and the various ways they use theirs and I have my own ideas on what and how I'd like to use mine, so I believe this this vessel should serve me quite well for the foreseeable future. My weekly maintenance fees right now are a little over eight million credits a week but I'm not sure if I am finished installing modules in her quite yet. I have the basics installed but not all of them. I certainly can afford it, but it will be just me out here so, what's the point?

Tomorrow, three of my ships will arrive from the bubble. That cost me a pretty penny to have them shipped out here to Colonia and it took just over 60 hours to get them here. I had my original Sidewinder sent out, my first Cobra sent, and my Cobra MK V sent out. Those three and the Mandalay and the T-11 will be the ships on my carrier with me for this chapter of my journey in the dangerous world of the universe of Elite.

Today I also gave the T-11 its second shakedown cruise in an icy ring and loaded its cargo bins up with tritium for the carrier. It didn't take long to gather 165 tons of tritium then haul it and my butt back to the carrier and transfer it into the main fuel tank. It was a learning experience and an enjoyable one at that. I always did enjoy mining way back in the day and I did make a lot of money while I was a new pilot doing precisely that. I was a little worried about pirates being so close to Colonia but when I'm out in the black, thousands of light years from anyone, I won't have to worry about getting ganked at all. That's a comforting feeling.

Well, Time to get cleaned up and get some dinner in me. Think about my day and all the money I spent. It won't be long and I'll have made it all back.

The T-11

The brochures I read about the T-11 were really spot on. This mining vessel is a beast when it comes to mining. I indeed purchased the bare bones T-11 and wow, this thing is a savage when it comes to mining. Of course, it's not right out of the box, you have to pay a lot of ARX for that model, but a quick trip to Colonia Hub down on Colonia 2 a, and I was able to purchase all of the equipment I needed to outfit my T-11 for mining tritium or whatever I want to mine just like the more expensive versions of the T-11 that come right out of the box like the Stellar version. Needless to say, I am happy with the purchase, and it will complement the fleet carrier that I intend to lease tomorrow or the next day. I haven't decided yet.

I then gave my new T-11 a shake down run this afternoon after I outfitted it this morning in one of the ringed planets in the Colonia system. The mining volley repeater is just as fun to operate as the brochure says it is, and the MK 2 Mining limpet controller works flawlessly. I opted to install the abrasion blaster, the seismic charge launcher, and the sub surface displacement missile as well just because they are all on the Stellar and Galactic versions of the T-11. I'm really not missing out on anything that they both have. I did opt NOT to install the fighter bay as I don't have a pilot for that job nor a fighter. I'm not sure if it gives me any more jump range without a fighter bay or fighter, but it's jump range is almost 24 LY with 192 tons of cargo space available.

To this day I still have never blown up an asteroid with a seismic charge launcher. Those mining devices came out long after I ended my mining career many years ago so, I'm looking forward to playing around with that new toy someday soon. I have never used an abrasion blaster before either. There are so many new things to try with this new mining rig, I can't wait! All in good time though, all in good time.

Well, I am excited about today, it was an exceptionally great day in my book and it's only going to get better when I take command of a fleet carrier. I have a few ships coming from the Frey system that should arrive within a few hours now that will be transferred to the carrier along with the new T-11 and my Mandalay. Together we will head out into the black and do some deep space exploration. Things are looking up.

Colonia in seven

Well, I made it to Jaques Station in the Colonia system in seven easy jumps. Of course, none of them were first discoveries as I stated before, this space has been well traveled over the years. I took my time enjoying the sights in the station. I had a terrific meal at a five-star restaurant and enjoyed a bottle of excellent wine with a beautiful lady I just met at the bar earlier. I am feeling good right now. The first thing I did when I landed though was offload the cartographic data from the ship's computer before I forgot about it. That totaled 138,115,035 CR. Roughly five pages of data for Universal Cartographics. Ah, but that's not the crown jewel, to be sure..

After dinner, and after I bid farewell to my new friend from the bar, I made my way to Vista Genomics. This is where the fun began. First of all, there always seems to be some weird dude hanging out in there just looking at the stuff in the display cases.. Weird. Anyway, I slid up to the guy behind the counter and handed him my data set and we went through the systems one by one. After all was said and done and bonuses were calculated with first footfalls, the grand total for exobiology came in at 3,922,525,000 CR. INCREDIBLE! The grand total for my one-way trip from Sag. A to Colonia came to 4,060,640,035 CR. That was an amazing run in fact, the best run I have ever made. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am about this trip.

So needless to say, I have purchased a basic T-11 and plan to outfit it with all the proper gear necessary for mining tritium to keep a carrier properly fed out in the black. Now I just need to find the proper gear. That is my next mission so, I'll keep track of that here in my log. Right now, it's time to get back to my hotel room and relax.

100 light years

I am only 100 light years away from Colonia. Tomorrow I will sell all my data and purchase my new T-11. I'll need somewhere to store it along with my Mandalay, so it looks like I'll be leasing a carrier as well. Deep down I knew I would, but I definitely had my reservations about the whole affair. I have been out in the black doing exobiology for several months now and it has been very lucrative for me. I have made a lot of money. I could continue doing this and be happy doing it, but I also could use a change as well. I used to be a miner several years ago and I liked that profession a lot. I made a lot of money doing that as well so, this carrier and the T-11 along with the Mandalay out in deep space seems like just the ticket for me.

Tomorrow I'm going to see how much my exobiological data brings in. I'm betting it will be close to 2 billion. I'm sure I'll be way off, but we shall see. Of course, the cartographic data will get turned in as well but that won't compare to the exo data. I'll break it all down in my next log entry.

Tonight, I found a high metal ringed world to camp at tonight after 28 jumps today. I visited two black holes and three neutron stars today, all of them previously discovered. That's not surprising since I am so close to Colonia. Most of the main sequence stars I visited were undiscovered however which is good news for me, just more cash in the bank.

That should just about wrap up this log entry, time to get cleaned up, eat and relax. I'm looking forward to pulling into Colonia tomorrow.

An exo day

What a day I had. The bulk of my day was spent in the system Eoch Pruae ZV-M d7-102 chasing exobiology. There were five exobiological signatures on four of the moons in this system and four signatures on one of the moons. I had to find them all however I did get skunked on one bacterium, I swear it was invisible. I invested the better part of an hour searching for it and finally just gave up and moved on. I don't like doing that, but I had to as the day was getting late and I had to make camp soon.

I located a nice wide flat area in the scarab and recalled the ship. It dutifully located me in seconds and located a nice level place to touch down which I will call home for the night. I quickly docked below and raised into the SRV bay and then made my way back to the bridge where I looked at the galaxy map to scout tomorrow's path.

After a bit of navigational work out of the way I was free to relax and make some dinner and enjoy catching up on some of my favorite shows on the video feed. After that, I looked over a couple carrier brochures and also a couple T-11 brochures. Man, that T-11 sure looks like it can mine some serious ore. It looks like it was made with the carrier in mind. Time to end this log entry.

Economy

I've decided to travel in economy mode for a while on my last leg to Colonia. First to prolong this journey a bit and second, to add more exobiological data to my ever-growing data bank for Vista Genomics. That ought to be one healthy paycheck when I finally get there.

Today I made 15 jumps toward Tir/Colonia, but I spent a lot of time in the Scarab hunting down exobiology. I had a lot of fun and actually enjoyed the chair time in the Scarab today. The variety of exobiology was great and very challenging. It kept me on my toes most all day long and the variety of worlds was extraordinary as well. I am noticing that the black holes and neutron stars are mostly discovered as I get nearer to Colonia, but I expected as much. This area has been well traveled over the years.

Taking more time in economical jump mode also gives me more time to think about this carrier decision I am about to make and also the T-11 I will also purchase. I am looking forward to getting back into mining again. I haven't done that in years. I am looking forward to that. Basically, it will be simply tritium mining to keep the carrier moving as far as I can tell.

Alright, another simple dinner after I get cleaned up and perhaps a Beefeater martini or two. I haven't had a good martini in a long time. That will do it for this log entry.

A day out

I am just one day out of Colonia if I use long range jumps. I am carrying a lot of exobiological data onboard, well over a billion credits worth and maybe more. If I re-route to economical jumps, I could theoretically collect possibly a quarter billion to half a billion credits more. It depends on how 'exploration saturated' the star systems around Colonia are out around 1500LY or so. Perhaps I shall find out over the course of the next few days.

Today I made fourteen hops which included three black hole systems two of which were a first discovery for me. I also jumped to two neutron star systems, but they had both been discovered prior to my visit. Incredibly enough, only the stars had been discovered, most of the planets had remained undiscovered if not all so I happily went ahead and scanned the system and located the exobiology if there was any and in one case there was in fact, quit a bit.

In keeping up with community goal news I seem to be missing out on quite a few rewards and perks by not participating. Part of me is a bit sad but the rest of me is happy to not be caught up in the rat race that 90% of the community is collectively caught up in at the moment. Are the rewards really worth the effort in the long run? I don't really think so. I'll make out just fine with the stock components or engineer whatever I need to meet my expectations whatever they may be.

I'm getting long winded here, time to end this log entry.

Faulty Data

I must have passed through some type of strong electrical anomaly or charged particle field or something because my daily flight log didn't get recorded or it somehow got erased. In any event, there will not be a formal logbook entry today. I will need to run a full diagnostic on the ship's computer in the morning to see if I can find a problem.

Ten hop day

Today was spent finishing up in system Kyloaln BS-J d9-4635 planet 7 B and then continuing on with my journey toward the Tir/Colonia sector. That system had two worlds with 13 exobiologicals between the two of them. I had to track them all down before I left that system, I just had to.

Today, I only made a total of ten jumps. I discovered two black holes and the rest were main sequence stars. Today I also spend a good amount of time tracking down seven exobiological specimens on Kyloarph WO-Q d5-1235 planet 2 A, but I got skunked by the eighth, that being Osseus. I just couldn't find one. This will be the second time I have been skunked by Osseus. This is where I am also camping for the night. I may give the Osseus one more try before I move on to the next star system tomorrow, I haven't decided yet. I'll mull it over during breakfast in the morning.

Right now, I want a hot shower and to eat something, I'm famished. Then I'd like to watch a movie or something and then get some sleep. That will do it for this log entry.

Quick log

Just a quick log entry today. Another twenty-three jumps and only fourteen exobiological specimens to show for it. Not a very good day in my book but a good amount of distance covered, so there's that. There is one more world in this system I would like to go over for exobiologicals but, that will have to wait for tomorrow.

I am ready for dinner and relaxation for tonight. that's it for this log entry. If I think of anything else I will add it later.
