ACME Interstellar corporation was founded by a group of independent commanders frustrated with their careers. They chose to take the plunge and risk massive debt to form their own cooperative. Early operations led them to the Gommatchal system, then under the control of the notorious Silver Brotherhood gang. Responding to pleas from the oppressed citizens, they were able to rally support from the nearby Karamai Patrons of Law, and succeeded in ousting the Brotherhood. This and further activities led to a significant boost to ACME's fortunes, and now the corporation possesses a measurable degree of influence in Gommatchal.
