Captain's Log 15/7/3308

RECORDING INITIATED. PROCEDE

It's good to be out in the black again. I tried my hand at mining, and found it a fairly lucrative method of fundraising for that Anaconda. However, my wanderlust eventually got the better of me. I've stopped in an asteroid terminal in the system Sadr Region Sector GW-W c1-22 to sell my exploration data and make some repairs. Thus far, it appears like this will be a lucrative venture. I'm headed out of the Inner Orion Spur for the first time in about a year. I've stuck pretty close to Diaguandri since I came home from that trip to Colonia.

Anyways... I guess I should probably hit the rack. I plan to be out early tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have discovered something new and interesting by my next log entry.

RECORDING INITIATED. PROCEED WHEN READY...

Just a short check-in. Not much exciting has happened in the past 24 hours. I've managed, thanks to the Neutron Highway, to progress a pretty good distance, to the point where I'm pretty close to passing out of the Inner Orion Spur. It will be exciting being out that far again, and hopefully not dying before syncing my exploration data. I need to make a note to myself to upgrade my FSD when I reach Colonia. I could use more than a 23 LY jump range.

I've had a small setback. Well, I guess it isn't small. I lost an Asp Explorer well mucking around on a planet. Crashed it into the side of a mountain. Regenerating sent me back to the Eagle Sector Secure Facility, so about 1-2k lightyears. I almost abandoned my mission, but I remembered the Neutron Highway. I plotted two courses, one without it, and one using it. The Neutron Highway is going to save me 300 jumps. I'll update this log when I find more interesting stuff.

Captain's Log Supplemental. This is CMDR Anglert83, reporting in. Just a few hours after reporting on those metallic crystals, I found quite the interesting planet, pictured below. Computer, insert image, code 11A376B.

Well, that isn't going to work. Thanks, computer. I found an Ammonia world. After serarching on the GalNet's forum, I have deduced that these are fairly rare planets, which must make me fairly lucky. I've discovered two since setting out on my mission. No Earthlikes, though.

I've discovered a notable stellar anomaly within system Plaa Aescs BC-D d12-119. I jumped into system, and imediately engaged my D-Scanner, searching for planetary bodies. When I opened up the Full-Spectrum Analysis panel, I noted a concentrated signal source on my dashboard. After ten minutes of searching, I found it within the ring of a gas giant. Upon arriving at the destination, I disengaged my FSD and proceeded to the signal source. I encountered several strange crystalline structures, which I scanned, revealing them to be Rubeum metallic crystals. They were not mined for minerals, for my ship is ill-equipped to this task.
