Here I am again at BP. DW2 was a good set of waypoints to follow, but now I need to strike out on my own again.

I'm headed for Zurara via the long way. Scutum arm to Outer arm on down. At the moment I'm about to recross the Abyss heading towards the Abyssal plain. I've never traveled the western route back to the bubble. It'll probably be 3 months before I'm back home again.

Hopefully the space madness won't get me along the way.

I came across my first void opal hotspot deep in the black. Unfortunately no mining equipment on board to take advantage of it. I doubt I'll ever be back this way, so hopefully someone else will make their riches from it.

I blasted out of Pallaeni today about 2 weeks late for DW2. I've made it 1.1kLy from Sol today. I hope to catch-up to the first waypoint in 3 days.

I'm meandering back towards Rendezvous Point. Crossing the Abyss I encountered many previously discovered systems, but now I'm in the Galactic Aphelion it's back to first discovery.

One system I came across, Byaa Broae SR-W c1-2, had both an ELF and a Water World making for a pretty system. Another ELF I encountered was in a system that looked a bit like Sol.

As I'm bumbling along I've been listening to old Earth broadcasts of Wolf 359. It makes passing the time between drive spin-ups a bit more palatable. I still haven't seen another commander since I left Colonia about 50 days ago.

I'm still deep out in the black. It's been a week of wandering. Along the way I passed a few water worlds and a lot of high metal content planets. I didn't encounter any ELF's in this stretch.

Along the way I came across a number of water worlds, but only one ELF in Struia Eork QE-X d2-2.

I stopped to pickup a few materials on an icy body on Struia Eork RE-X d2-1. I need to find some more Polonium. It's the only component that I'm missing at the moment.

I'm 22,691 to Rendezvous Point on my way back towards the core. I'll swing by Sag A* and the Great Annihilator before heading down to the Formadine Rift area.

The space madness is getting a bit strong. I decided to try and make it in between a planet and its rings only to emergency stop and do some more damage. My power plant is at 94%. It should hold up just fine for the way home, but I need to lay-off the rum.

After a bunch of jumps, I made it through to the edge of the galaxy. I got to go skiing downhill on Salome's Reach in my buggy. Otherwise a bit uneventful.

More than a thousand jumps later, I made it to the point.
