The continuing journey - The Keelblack Rings

My journey continues. Have finally started hitting the more densely star packed areas in the outskirts of the galaxy's centre and, since I was in the neighbourhood, decided to visit the Keelblack Rings. Had heard talk about them while resting at a bar in the bubble. Impressive looking due to their size, for sure, but I didn't rest there much. Still, had a good set of pics taken by the Camera Drones.

Looking up from the planet's moon, also sporting its own ring system.

Dominating a good chunk of the night sky

Heading towards the next destination

A quick pause along the way...Thanks to the DSSA Sesame

Am now, what, 14.000/15.000 LY from human trodden stars and planets? Was definitely needing a place to sit down and rest other than the Njord Odda. She's a good ship but can feel claustrophobic at times.

One thing's for sure. The Sesame rests in a system of great beauty and, at its centre, lies a monster waiting to devour all who enter unprepared. A monster in waiting

But arriving at the Sesame, one did take a well deserved rest. Taking a breather

And you know what? Out the window, one just lets their eyes rest. A sight to rest

Guardian Ruins of the Norma Expanse's Hollow Veil

Been planning to visit these for quite a while so, taking the opportunity of traveling to the galaxy centre, since they were in the way, why not pop into BLAA HYPAY LZ-F b27 A 5?

Landing at the first Guardian Ruins site

Grabbing some data for later analysis

Brain trees

On the way to the Guardian Ruins in the Norma Expanse, got a few biological readings. Upon landing, found what I heard spoken of before but never seen: Brain Trees!!

Well, of course they weren't real brains but can see why they were named that.

What's a tree without being climbed upon?

The trek along the galaxy continues

Another planet landed on, a few more biological signals captured and then it was time to hit the celestial "road".

Moving to a different place in the planet

Preparing to continue the journey

Sunset of the mind

Going for those biological signals can be tiresome, so, by the end of the day, it feels good to be able to take the sunset in.

Sunset after a day's search

Well, this did not go as planned...and now, I am a criminal

Today was a lesson in keeping one's focus.

Taking a pause at Observation Post Epsilon, a guy just approached me, looking to see if I could help him recover an item from an acquaintance of his at Vasylyshin Mineralogic Exchange. The deal seemed easy enough so, looking for a way to spend the time while maintenance took care of my ship, I hoped on an Apex Shuttle and headed out there. Heading to Vasylyshin, under careful driving from Sally Higgins

Things quickly took a wrong turn. Looking to obtain the whereabouts of the dude I was meant to deal with, I took the wrong thing from the wrong computer and ended up having to shoot two civilians who didn't appreciate that. After hiding for a bit in a warehouse area, I called in an Apex Shuttle (Sally again) and returned to Observation Post Epsilon. Hiding from possible chasers

Long story short, given the option to return to the bubble to serve my sentence or escape, I got on Njord Odda and hightailed out of there.

Little time after, I had found an Earth-Like planet so, taking it as a sign, decided I'd finish my tour and serve my time later. A sign to carry on

A quick pitstop at Amundsen Terminal

Thanks to the Colonia Connection Highway, the way to the centre of the galaxy isn't so hard to do these days.

Can definitely tell I can appreciate having a quick drink while resting at one of the service outposts, enjoying the sight outside.

Amundsen Terminal, a great pitstop 5k LY from the bubble.

A quick drink and rest before hitting the stars

Enjoying the low sunlight while studying fungi

Flying 5000 LY outside the bubble, one of my mission parameters is to explore reported biological signals. A scan of NGC 6530 Sector DL-X c1-8 showed quite a thrive of biological signals, surprising for a planet seemingly a desert in nature. The sights however...

But, coming back to the mission at hand, it was a hard task but finally found Fungoida colonies in a scannable state. With the job done, the sun could be looked at again...

Blinded by a cosmic beacon

Flying in deep space, one always should find some time for quiet contemplation...while wearing darkened shades.
