World of Death

The World of Death, also known as Planet Hell, is a landable body that orbits its host white dwarf within the exclusion zone. For about 20 minutes in each hour-long orbit, the passes exits the exclusion zone and can be approached. While landed, the planet passes through both ends of the dwarf's jet cones, providing for spectacular views.

A Ringed landable High Metal World with bioluminescent anemones and smoldering geo sites is in orbit of a ringed T Tauri Star continuously illuminated by the trinary B stars in the system, two of which orbit each other as the arrival point. Spectacular views abound with a nebular backdrop.

A neutron system binary with an M-class Star contains an earth-like world in an unlikely place.

Mind the Gap

An 0.03G moon in a binary orbit of a gas giant with its partner 1.8MM away creates an opportunity for geyser jumping an SRV to another planetary body. May be posthumously renamed “Grant’s Folly” if events go poorly for our expedition’s high-altitude adrenaline junkie.

Cursed Moon

Planet: 3 A [12.33, -120.33]

Maledictus Luna - 'Cursed Moon' in Latin. The Mercury 7 Expedition met up at Waypoint Grissom on this Moon in March 3303, but suffered the demise of two Commanders in strange and unexplained accidents. Much of the expedition suffered from strange equipment malfunctions, leading to the members believing the Moon to be cursed. Feeling the creepy presence of the place that had claimed two of their comrades, the Mercury 7 left the system with all possible speed...vowing never to return...and to warn future travelers of the Cursed Moon

This is the DSSA carrier Hope Dempsey, the farthest west of them all, whose name is censored by FDev for unknown reasons. We'll stop here for 2 weeks to explore the sparse area, and support carriers may take advantage of the opportunity to push even further westward for true frontier discoveries.

Drag a fork down the side of the clay model for this planet and you’ve got the sports model! In close orbit to its gas giant, this planet makes for some majestic canyon views with opportunities for geyser jumping.

This unique waypoint was discovered live on Twitch. Nominated by davesunday and named by Felix_Duesenberg, this lonely high-gravity planet high above the galactic plane provides stunning views of the ring system and host star. This entire sector cannot be explored by normal means, so a nearby neutron star makes for a galactic springboard into the totally unknown. Phooe Auc TN-T D3-0

Ante Solem Occasum

This red giant system with a binary red pair has a landable high-metal world with three sunsets going at the same time. The red giant is directly opposite the binary pair on the horizon, allowing for the explorer to view the sunsets from any number of beautiful angles. Located over 1,000LY above the galactic plane, the region is largely unexplored and ripe for discovery by CMDRs looking to make a name—and a photo—for themselves.

This nearly 2G landable HMC in close orbit of an S-type giant provides for spectacular views and evokes memories of art from the game Military Madness for the TurboGrafx-16. The careful CMDR will find plenty of photo opportunities with the sun large in the horizon and silicate vapor thermal vents to accent the subject. For those leery of high-G landings, the view of the galaxy from on high presents its own glimpse of magnificence.

An undiscovered black hole way off the bottom of the galactic plane, reachable only by carrier. We will be jumping in sight-unseen. The system name will be posted following the meetup at the previous week's waypoint. Please ensure you are onboard one of the official expedition carriers, or you won't be able to make it here!

Gizmo's Beacon

This waypoint has been re-dedicated in honor of Gizmo, beloved companion to CMDR Senior0025, who passed away during our journey. His memorial at [-66.3841, 79.9141°] will shine forever into the night, joining the one we left behind at Toby’s Rest and the one CMDR Airman_Dan keeps aboard ship, next to his heart.

Rest now, friend, for at long last you have completed your journey. Your beacon will light the way for those who are lost, those who are tired, and those who seek peace. They will find it here, among friends who have gone before, among companions who know the way. We grieve in your absence, but rejoice that you were here.

Guardian Ruins

In the penultimate stop for our expedition, we'll be touring the Guardian Ruins at the Àrsaidh Nebula, collecting ancient relics, driving through foggy crash sites and graveyards of a civilization that has vanished completely.
