Sadr, also known as Gamma Cygni, is an F-class super-giant and one of the brightest stars visible from old Earth. It has historical significance for astronomers, being used as one of the stable reference points by which other stars are classified. The Sadr region, or IC 1318, is the diffuse emission nebula which surrounds Sadr.
