Well friends I have reached a cross roads. In the process of floating around Kyloasly area, where I ran across a small black hole, I discovered a interesting detail. A challenge for explorers really. There exists a system that is -3216.875 light years below the galactic plane, the lowest point in the galaxy to be exact. The only way you could possibly access said system is if there happened to be a series of neutron stars that you could use to super jump to it. It just so happens that there is indeed such a string of neutron stars and I am now faced with a decision...continue my way on to Beagle Point, or risk everything and go for one of the ultimate bragging rights of sitting where few have sat. Beagle Point is definitely the smarter, safer route considering that I have an absorbent amount of data on board with me right now...but the challenge and sense of danger/exhilaration is pulling at my deepest exploration core.

So, it is settled...I make way for Syrumbi IC-U e3-4 and the first leg of this all or nothing quest.

God help me.

I know I shouldn't be surprised at this point, but yet again I have been plagued by more issues. After the build up in excitement to finally be able to return to my quest for World's End, I was yet again met with a disappointing mechanical issues. First it was many of my controls for my menus and basic flight had become unresponsive, then discovery logs were not being update correctly, then my FSS scanning controls were unresponsive. I finally got everything straightened out, but by that time I was only able to make a couple jumps before I had to get some shut eye. It was a really disappointing outcome to what was a pretty highly anticipated day. But, such is life I suppose; I will continue to press forward and hope that my luck takes a turn for the better....and soon.

I left on this quest for Beagle Point, also so loving referred to as World's End, almost 2 years ago. It seems as though its been one issue after another. First it was the attack of the Thargoids that held me up, where I found myself zig zagging from system to system trying to avoid the cursed space bugs. Then after some rather annoying routing issues along the Neutron Star Highway I found my way to Tranquility's Stop, the Great Annihilator, and finally, my first personal goal of the trip, a triumphant return to Sag A after my previous ship's untimely demise 2 years prior. This brings me to the beginning of January of this year where I finally made it to the second leg of the trip, Colonia. This is where once again problems struck, this time in the form of some unexpected updates to the core systems of my ship that caused me to have to spend more time in the Colonia area than I originally planned. Finally I was able to once again continue onto my ultimate goal of World's End..which brings to me to now, 4 months later where I have been sitting in the same system because of some mechanical issues. Luckily it wasn't serious, and my beloved DBX Phyxios never lost life support, so I have been waiting since the middle of January to finally be able to continue my journey. Well, that brings me to today...where I am finally able to move forward after a long hiatus. I must say after the trials I have faced so far I am quite nervous to continue on and not just turn back to Colonia and make that my new home. However, my goal of reaching World's End and completing, what many explorers view as the ultimate rite of passage, fuels this burning desire to face whatever problems that I may run across. So, I put aside the paranoia, the fear, and I continue to push on looking forward to what I may come across.

For whoever may come across this...say a small prayer,

Definitely not moving as quickly as I was on my initial route to the core and colonia..I find myself stopping inside systems and putting the upgraded scanners to use to see what there is to see. I don't think I've gone 500 lys in the past 2-3 days, so I may have to have abandoned the idea of scanning everything and start to pick up the pace or I'm never going to make out to Beagle Point. But, the explorer in me just can't seem to pass up the chance of seeing something great....

2-Jan-3305

So I've spent the past few months in the Colonia area seeing what I could find. There were apparently some upgrades to my ships core systems that needed to be done so I also spent quite some time getting familiar with those updates. However, with the turn of the new year I am finally ready to begin my push to worlds end (or at least as we know it) aka Beagle Point. The trip is a daunting one, but one that I am rather looking forward to finally complete my pilgrimage as an explorer. Well friends and cmdrs alike wish me luck, it appears that my near future includes nothing but myself, my trust dbx Phyxios, and lightyears of black space. Bring it on!

Colonia

6-Sept-3304 - After a very long 13 months of floating around in no man's land I am happy to report that I have finally touch down in Colonia. Life! It feels good to see other life signs! Think I'll hang around in this area for a couple days and see what I can see..maybe grab a burger..then it's back out into the black to start the final leg towards my destination - Beagle Point.

On the Bubble

30 Aug 3304 - Still slowly making my way towards Colonia; only 3954.28 lys to go (but who's counting right?). I'm probably on the cusp of reaching what one would probably considered the occupied bubble of Colonia, so there might be chance I might actually see other life floating around.

10-Aug-3304

Decided to take a bit of a detour. Come to find out there is an asteroid-based station located relatively close to me that's on the way towards Colonia; so why not, always wanted to check one out. Got access to a database that notes some POIs that are in my vicinity (which is how I found out about the asteroid base) so my arrival to Colonia might be delayed by a bit more...but oh well, I'll get there eventually. Been keeping up with some of the news from back home..sounds like the 'goids are still giving us a fits..but seems that we might be pushing back thanks to some new tech....and a few new ships (i hear the krait finally made its come back!). Good to hear that we're finally able to take it to those damn bugs! Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone back there in the fight. Also saw the news bulletin regarding the missing rogue robot...how does that even happen?! Hopefully they'll be able to track it down and stop it before any serious damage is done. Anyways, nothing much to report with me...still lots and lots of empty space between me and where I'm going, but I'm inching my way closer and closer back into occupied space. Plan is to hang out around Colonia for a little before making the last push back into the void towards my final stop before making my way back...the End of Worlds...Beagle Point. Anxious for what lies ahead. But for now, this is Cpt. Loydman logging out.

2-6-3304

Just a quick update. Inching closer and closer to Colonia, under 150 jumps and I'll be there. Found a water world that showed to be a candidate for terraforming today as well...think I might have been the first human to come across it as well..so good find. Can't wait to get all this data unloaded once I dock so that we know that much more about the universe. Also came across a 3 K yellow star system where the star were in relatively close proximity of each other...looked pretty awesome. Anywho...still trucking along, getting more excited the close to civilization I get...pretty sure the phyxios will be glad to get to Colonia...she could probably use a little bit of TnL as well. But, until then it space...space...and more space! Cmdr Loydman signing off...until next time.

I'M BACK!!!

AAAAAANNNNNNDDDD I'm back! Still alive and kicking...may or may not have gotten a bit side tracked.....but I am headed towards Colonia. I'm so ready to see people again! Not a whole lot to say...or really do at this point. Just jump...checking for interesting things...jump again...rinse and repeat. But, hey...I'm alive!!

Here's to getting back in the saddle...COLONIA HERE I COME!

This is Cmdr Loydman..signing off.
