Sacaqawea Space Port

The port is named after the explorer "Sacagawea", of the old Earth. I made it here and landed to repair my FSD which was beaten up after some neutron star jumps. Also, previously I made a hard landing on a remote moon. I try to avoid landing on planets, but couldn't resist the views from a small moon-like planet. Landing was hard and I my hull took some beating. Hull was also repaired here and I quuickly planned my next destination: Gagarin gate. I believe this will be the last stop before calling Colonia.

The collection of Wonders

This incredible system - the "Collection of Wonders" contains two black holes, a ringed M-class star, a ringed white dwarf, and a ringed neutron star. I stayed for a while in this fantastic system and visited the tourist beacon which set up near the M-class star. Buzzing with traffic, I quickly made it out of there after scanning the beacon.

Space fever

After 10 days in space, I started to feel a little unwell. No fever, but my heart was racing and I was a little bit fatigued. It got worse the next day, but I could still take care of the Andromeda. The third day I had to turn on the autopilot and stay in bed all day with a high fever and severe pain in the joints and muscles.

After a few days I got better and was able to continue the journey, but I still wondered about what happened to me. Did I catch a bug at the Asuna? Why was that carrier parked in deep space like that, off the Colonia highway? Or was my cargo space contaminated? After all, I had not sanitized the cargo racks after I mounted them. And I've spent some time in there loading up for the trip. At home, in the Bubble, there was talk of a new corona virus, but since the medical corporations could sequence a new vaccine in just a matter of few days it wasn't a problem - in the Bubble. Out here in deep space, lone pilots perished without much notice. A cardiac arrest, a lethal virus infection or just a simple thing as a blood infection - you die. Your ship will continue until the fuel is depleted. Since I did not purchase or mount a drug module for Andromeda, I was happy I was now again on my feet.

The Asuna

My journey continues and I realize that this part of the galaxy is not completely deserted. After I jumped into the Pru Aesc's UY-S e3-25 system, the ship's computer alerted me: "New contact". I was startled. And there, a few minutes away, the fleet carrier Asuna hovered, high above the star. I requested landing and was granted permission. Since I modified my ship, The Andromeda, for deep space exploration it is not equipped with a docking computer. After all this boring star jumps, I could do some ship maneuvering. However, landing on a carrier is not hard and soon the landing gear indicated contact with the carrier and my thrusters went silent.

Hello? Anybody?. It was only the crew on the ship and no one was interested in socializing. I paid for some FSD maintenance, but the technician didn't say a word. He did his work on the FSD, filled in the ship maintenance log and handed it over without saying anything. What's wrong with this place. I did not stay a minute more than necessary and throttled up to make my next jump.

The Spire

After Cat Paw Nebula, I headed for Eagle Nebula. It is located in between Colonia and Bubble. Seemsinteresting. The nebula, Messier 16, is also called the Spire. The nebula is also known as the Pillars of Creation.

I lack words, the feeling when you reach a nebula can not be described. Space. Is. Huge. Goosebumps.

But, to my surprise, I found a facility here; Eagle Sector Secure Facility. A kind of prison colony blasted into an asteroid. Seems "secure", but it gives me shivers to land here. I repaired the ship and refueled the old Clipper. Talked to some truckers who made their thousandth trip to or from Colonia. How do they cope? They are very talkative, I understand.

Cat Paw Nebula

Amazing. It really is an experience to get out of the Bubble. Fantastic views and the feeling of being on the road - towards the unknown. In front of me is Cat Paw Nebula. A giant cloud of ionized gas that glows. I'm taken. The exploration is interesting and exciting, I have already found interesting sources of radiation with my frequency scanner. I have also discovered a number of stars that no explorer before me has registered.

Adventure awaits

For the first time in my life, I've earned enough credits that I could do whatever I wanted - at least for a while. As a reserve officer in the Imperial Navy, I have managed to come across a used Clipper at a good price. I bought the Clipper from a shady company - Darkwater Inc. - located in the Summerland system. Just before my retirement from the Navy I was awarded the Baron rank, the HQ issues me the Summerland permit and my Admiral told me to go there if I ever needed equipment.

I've spent a few months equipping the ship for longer voyages. I was able to get an engineered FSD for long range jumping and I've got a blueprint for a Guardian FSD booster, which some freaking expensive engineer did build for me. After doing some Space Acceptance Tests (SAT) the certification company signed the papers and told me I was all set for deep space exploration with the Clipper.

My final goal was Colonia - I was tired of the bickering and the power play in the Bubble.

My ship is now ready. I will take my time, exploring along as I cruise for Colonia. My first stop will be the Cat Paw Nebula. I have no idea what lies ahead, I haven't made any research since I whish this to be a true adventure.
