BLUF: We have not posted entries, prior to this. As an opening entry please allow some introductory remarks and background, as well, this entry will outline proposed exploration and followup survey candidates for 3305.01.27 to 3305.02.O2.

To my Fellow Commanders and esteemed representative of the Pilots' Federation, salutations:

This is the commanders' log for Deep Space Research and Rescue Vessel, Annie Jump Cannon. Current Designation: 1DM-DW.

Out from a homeport in Van Maanen's Star, the ship is currently assigned to exploration within the current Distant Worlds Expedition as per voluntary selection to Fleetcom during the length of engagement. This Falcon Delacy Anaconda, with hull laid 3271 previously served as Eridani system security before extensive damage during a battle in 3303. Vessel was acquired by Starostin Holdings LLC under surplus auction in early 3304. SH oversaw extensive refits and engineering during 3304, including core component replacements, installation of heavy-duty lightweight armor, Afmu, Limpet Control and fuel scoop installation while expanding maximum jump range to over 75 light years carrying a full complement of survey equipment, SRVs, and reconnaissance fighter craft. Space trials conducted 3304.06 confirmed worthiness and stability for automation and Covas Al-intergration.

As per SH policy directives, log entries within 2 weeks of anchor and all test logs remain the sole intellectual property of Starostin Holdings LLC,visible only within the encrypted manifest and Navilog of the ship. Therefore this is the first open log.

We are currently in a region of space approximately lkly coreward of the Conflux conducting surveys of c and d-sized systems containing F-class primary stars. Previous released surveys tendered to Universal Cartographics has brought in more than 200 mCR, and we continue our work charting and mapping unknown terraforming candidates. We also plan to conduct some followup surveys of known systems as per Starostin Holdings directive, and commanders prerogative. Although acting in a voluntary capacity within the expedition, the company has made it very clear it expects a return on its investment to which the initial scans I hope proved good faith and assurance to the success of this venture and the faith they have put in this commander.

Survey work and cataloging of Biological entities last week afforded the ship with an advantageous flight plan; placing us with 1 kly of the basecamp System in an area of systems we surveyed earlier last week. We are ahead of the pack. We continue to consider pre-placement planning for next wp announcements but will await company decision. During the weekly lightwire this evening we shared with corporate a list of probable candidate systems for follow up survey work. They included:
