Expedition announce

Come along on the Exteriores Australis expedition. We are going to visit the two southern most systems in the galaxy - one that's the furthest south from Sol, and the other the furthest reachable southerly star. This expedition will suit the slightly more experienced explorer, as it will require manual plotting, FSD injections, potentially the use of tools such as gap_jumper to generate ladders, and a ship with a bit more engineering than a basic craft if you want to be independent of the carrier.

As we're going to the galactic rim, stars will be sparse and there may be several unscoopable stars between refuelling slurps. Please bring a decent exploration ship - at least 50 ly, preferably much more if you have one. Bring FSD injections, as you'll need them too. The carrier is here to help rescue any stranded Cmdrs.

Other things you'll want to bring are:

  • Sidewinder (unengineered) and a small ship of any sort for shenanigans
  • SRV, again for some fun whilst on the journey
  • Artemis suit for exobiology and some climbing fun.
  • Optional - a mining ship to assist with tritium mining along the way

We will be in Odyssey Live most Sundays at 1800 UTC for a fun event of some description. Where the distance between waypoints is more than 10 kLy, there will be a week off to allow folks to keep and catch up. You're more than welcome to sit aboard Sir Chonk. We will be visiting the Anaconda Graveyard, so as all but the most long legged ships can't get there and nearly all can't get out, that week will be carrier assisted.
