A governing body formed by the first colonists of Matyar A4, the Myakka Minutemen began as the rapid reaction force for the colonies of technicians, scientists and engineers terraforming the water world. The dredging operations in the rich Myakka \"\"Big Water\"\" sector of Matyar A4 quickly attracted the attention of marauding pirates, unscrupulous corporate mercenaries and other interstellar threats. The Minutemen earned their nickname after proving they could go from planetary stand-by to orbital combat ready in under one terran minute. Arriving quickly and delivering overwhelming force is the signature of the MMoM.
