Day 7 of the Explore the Core Infernal Expedition, and I am utterly alone. Yesterday the carrier was scheduled to leave our current point of interest and travel around 6500ly to the next, but a kind of madness took hold of me and I made the decision to stay behind and catch up later.

I'd spent two nights attempting to reach a specific nebula, for what exact reason I'm not sure, but on both occasions was distracted en route and forced to abandon the plan. I knew never reaching that nebula would be a longstanding regret, so elected to travel there before changing direction and hopefully rendezvousing with the carrier before their next departure.

Well, I reached the nebula last night. In one system the sky was alive with the awe-inspiring sweep of our galaxy, and in the next..blackness. The system I find myself in, Shrogaae EV-O d6-779, contains nothing of particular interest and yet I feel a sense of accomplishment for reaching it, as if something has been calling me here.

Now I must make an important decision. At my current rage the carrier location is approximately 180 jumps away. They leave for the next leg of their journey tomorrow. Do I stay and explore the expanse of this nebula, in a possibly futile attempt to find whatever undetectable force drew me here? Or do I consider having merely reached this place a success, set off to meet the carrier, and always wonder?
