(Krait Phantom)
After much exploration among the white dwarves and neutron stars of temple, I finally stopped by the Prai nebulla. In amongst the Yellow lagrange clouds, gently drifting between the Peduncle trees is some more of those little bell molluscs. These seem to be significantly smaller than the other molluscs I've encountered out here.
Lots of different calcite plates and torus molluscs in this region, nestled in a field of white dwarf and neutron stars. Starting with Ovomly DA-Q d5-16 and the rubellum torus mollusc, its' hard getting good shots of these lil' guys.
Hopping over to Ovomly HG-O d6-0, so many different calcite plates in this system. Randomly in between planet 2 & 3, a large cluster of green viride calcite plates
Dropping into the A ring of planet 3, there are the more traditional clusters of plates and molluscs. The gentle glow of the luteolum calcite plates is quite haunting.
Gently floating between the plates are some purple blatteum torus mossuscs
Continuing on to Ovomly SS-K d8-8, we find some more torus molluscs. Viride varient this time, bobbing along in the icy rings of planet 8.
Received a news broadcast from canonn updating my travel list as well. Another cannoneer has found a new mollusc variant that's not too far from our area in Ovomly YE-H d10-3.
Finally, the last system with molluscs in this region at Ovomly AA-H d10-13, a very interesting colour combination on this one. I want to see if the engineers at any station would be able to get this kind of colour onto the paint...
I think I'm getting used to navigating this this far out from the galactic arm. Have to take some indirect routes most of the time, but Mandragora can go the distance. I was actually able to come in quite close to these anomalies before the HUD went on the fritz, thankfully no ship damage like the last time. The frozen rings around the ice planet is truly breathtaking.
That took a very long time... Several jumponium boosts later, and we made it. The very western edge of the galaxy. Keeping a safe distance this time, and admiring the huge silicate crystals as well.
The longest single leg of this journey lies before me. 32K light years, plus going beyond a galactic arm into deep space. Decided to make a pit stop back at a station to drop off this expo. data and pick up my krait phantom "Mandragora". While I do want to do this journey in Abeona, I worry about her integrity going out this far. So, I whipped around and headed back. Pulled into Alexander Terminal in Ross 667 eventually and turned in my exploration data for a sweet payout as well as making elite ranking with the Pilot's Federation!
Decided to further detour my pit stop even further by visiting Shinrarta Dezhra and founders world. Called up the transfer service had all of my ships pulled into Jameson Memorial for safe keeping. Mandragora needed a bit of work, but I got her all kitted out for the journey ahead. She doesn't have the same raw jump range as Abeona, but she can carry more of what I need for an extended trip like this. Back into the black we go.
Not much to see at this waypoint, just some more of these strange anemones. Naturally, SRV goes on top.
Routing here was difficult to say the least. Nav simply could not calculate a route, even to some of the neighboring systems. So, it was time to get fancy. I figured there were some neutron stars along the way that could give me a boost, so with some creative gal-map filtering, and strategic FSD injections, I found a way. Here goes nothing...
Made it, the view here is stunning. The colour of this nebula is unlike anything I've ever seen so far. stopped by one of the fleet carriers in system for a quick refuel and repair.
First stop was planet 1, a 2.26G planet. Getting the usual shot of my scarab on the anemones was tricky, due to the high gravity, but I managed.
Not too far off, there are thick clouds in the ring of 2-A with some crystal clusters. These thick clouds made it hard to find the molluscs living here, and this one was very un-interested in us.
Checking out the last point of interest and came across the Sanchez-class science vessel CEC-1018. A fair bit of activity here, mostly tourist ships and science vessels. A couple kilometers away were some more of those mineral spheres, but these ones were full of holes and surrounded by clouds of gas. Comp scanner reported these as lattice mineral spheres and it looks like they're still working on building themselves.
Strange looking brain trees on 2-A, almost looks like they've rotted and gotten some holes in them. Closer examination revealed that they're just a bit more wrinkly than usual, with some interesting colours.
I found a new variant of Brain Tree on world 4, comp scanner registered it as high in Ostrinum. Lots of ringed planets in this system, and I was able to see the inner edge of 4's rings from the site.
Even more anemones on 4 as well, another chance to get my SRV on top of them. Love the blue on these ones, so I kept my lights off when I could.
And for the real star in this system, a grouping of Albulum Gourd Molluscs. One just kept floating back and forth from abeona, not entirely sure how they move around like that. Must be something to do with the gas that trails from them.
Found some of those funky looking "brain" trees here, although I can see why they are called that. The location that I landed at had them on the very edge of an incredibly steep hill. It didn't seem that steep from orbit, so we landed at the top and I started to inch my way down in the scarab. About 100 meters from the first tree, the slope increased dramatically and the SRV started sliding, even with handbrake on and max reverse, I couldn't stop it. Luckily, I managed to wedge the scarab against one of the trees and got the comp scan.
The 0.06G was helpful too, not to much damage to the scarab. I rode it out to the bottom of the cliff (I'm calling it a cliff now), and called in Abeona for pickup.
