Captain's Log - 04 December 3303

A moment of detour, as we were headed towards the Orio-Persean Conflux, the science officer, lieutenant Watanabe, noted it would be more interesting and even profitable to take a different route. The route is taking us right into a quite unexplored region of space. The Wagar's Reach and the Outer Arm Rift. Both these areas have been fairly unexplored and could hold huge mysteries.

Lieutenant Watanabe pressed the importance of mapping this area of space as there could be a significant amount of earth-like planets or even hidden mysteries. The thing is, do we really want to make contact with whatever is out there?

Captain's Log - 03 December 3303

The I.R.V. Ikigai has arrived in Colonia, finally. We have met up with the rest of the science team and are preparing to move into the vastness of space for our mission. Our mission, to reach the furthest reaches of space known to mankind. Our projected trip takes us about 66.000 lightyears away from Sol. On our way we will investigate the possibilities of alien life this far out in the galaxy.

Our mission after-all is to find and identify possible habitable worlds in the far ends of the galaxy. Out main mission will be mapping the systems and sending this information back as a greater good for all mankind. I will never stop stressing the crew that we are on a mission of peace and science, might we encounter unknown species or life forms. Everything in the name of science. Our first waypoint on this trip takes us to the Hypoea Graae sector within the Orio-Persean Conflux. Our trip will absolutely be hard on the crew, but I believe this is the crew that can keep their absolute sanity.

Captain's Log - 29 November 3303

A new opportunity was presented to me today, to lead a completely new team on the vessel the IRV Ikigai. An interstellar research vessel of unknown proportions. I first saw her as just another Anaconda class, but after her maiden voyage, which I was luckily to be allowed to attend, I thought very differently of her. Not just her sheer elegance, but the amazing ranges she can jump completely baffled me.

Today we embark on our official mission, duration: unknown. I was told to meet up in Colonia within the coming week which is a good test for this vessel, to see how quick she can actually get there.

I have great confidence in the crew, there's very capable people on this ship of whom I trust they can keep this ship in the best shape. My first officer was a surprise, an old friend, Naomi Hsu. She and I have quite a history when it comes to exploration missions. It is good to be working with her again. Also for the first time I seem to have a Astrometics officer, whatever that means, I just like to call miss Watanabe my science officer for comfort and avoiding confusion.

This journey will take is into the great unknown, with a mission to uncover the secrets of Raxxla but foremost: seeking habitable or possibly already inhabited planets.
