The Zurara

Arrived at the Zurara. Spooky damn ship. Moving on, back towards the black hole I found on the outer limits of the arm.

Approach to the Zurara

The news about the discovery of the Zurara dropped about two weeks ago. I've been sprinting towards it from my previous position ever since then. I'm only about 1500Ly away now, and I'm definitely into the Rift. The star density is way lower and I'm having to do route plotting in 150-250Ly spans. The route is also looking more and more twisted all the time.

It's gonna be a nightmare getting out of here. I think I'm going to visit the Formidine Dynasty sites before I make the trek out of this mess.

End of Day Two

Finishing up Day two of my first outside-of-bubble expedition by landing on a small moon in Hypuae Aim Al-N c22-1

The moon itself is the second moon of the first large gas giant in the system, planet A 1 B; I'm on approach now, so I'm not exactly sure what the topology is like.

Made about two thousand light years today, still on course for the Heart and Soul nebulae.

Day Two Launch

Launching on day two of the expedition, I've decided to set my heading for the Heart and Soul nebulas. The journey should be about 5,000 lightyears.

The mission critical systems are all nominal, over 85% integrity on all critical systems. Let's see how it goes.

End of Day One

One day out, made it several thousand lightyears. Ending the first day of my extended solo expose to the stars in PHEIA AIN GV-A C15-2, planet 5 A. Its a small, icy moon with a lot of deep ravines. Its...charming.

Yet perfectly adequate a place to camp for a night. Make some minor system repairs, catch some sleep, and dig into my compressed-meal rations. Joy.

Embarkation

First day outside of the bubble exploring, making a beeline for the galactic rim.

Eventual goal is loop up and around the rim of the galaxy, following the outermost arm, finally ending the expedition at Colonia. Based on my progress so far, I estimate that this trip will be nearly a hundred thousand light years, and will take me many months.

Perhaps I'll be in Colonia by the time the school year is over.

EDIT: I have now learned, after a full 28 seconds of googling, that my route will take me by way of the Perseus Galactic Arm...I really should start learning the names of things.
