Crashed Thargoid

A crashed alien ship has just been discovered - so of course I had to fly out to see. The location of the crash site is on Pleiades Sector AB-W b2-4 9 a at -26.336/97.708

Crashed Thargoid

It's quite a spooky thing, obviously organic, and very, very alien!

CNE The Return - LBN 623

The final waypoint was the LBN 623 Sector FW-W d1-100 system with a great view of the LBN 623 Nebula.

LBN 623 Nebula

Close to where I landed, I noticed there was a nearby flat ledge where quite a few ships could land with a view over the surrounding landscape.

Flat landing zone

This is actualy quite close to the bubble - it was only six jumps to the Sothis system, famous for well-paying missions back to the bubble.

From there it was just another few hours flying to get to the official completion waypoint for the expedition - back where we started - Epsilon Indi.

CNE The Return - California Nebula

The penultimate return waypoint was California Sector BQ-Y d35.

The California Nebula was close enough to provide light on the 'dark side' of the moons in the system.

California Nebula

I decided to stop for the night here in the red twilight.

CNE The Return - Flaming Star

The next waypoint was the Flaming Star Emission Nebula. The official waypoint system for my return route was Flaming Star Sector GW-W c1-5.

Flaming Star Nebula

Nothing special, just another one of the blue-purple 'butterfly' nebulae.

CNE The Return - Trifid of the North

The first planned waypoint of the return trip was the Trifid of the North system.

The blue-purple nebula is a lot like other blue-purple nebulas in the game. This is the view from the Flaming Star Sector GW-W c1-5 system.

Trifid of the North

Close gas giants are always good for a photo.

CNE The Return - Dual Water Worlds

Two days later I found a pair of Water Worlds in the Slegao TG-X c17-0 system - "AB 1" and "AB 2".

CNE The Return - ELW

After three days at the Crab Nebula, I decided it was time to head home.

On my second day travelling, I found my first undiscovered Earth-Like World for the trip: Qiedeau BR-U d3-15 4.

Qiedeau BR-U d3-15 4

In the same system, on Qiedeau BR-U d3-15 1 a, I spent some time driving the SRV around. This part of the world (48.6290/-7.6622) was a distinctive two-tone colour.

CNE WP10 The Crab Nebula

At last, the Crab Nebula was just a few jumps away.

Crab Nebula

The final waypoint, WP10 "Crab Stadium", was on Crab Sector IH-V c2-3 A 11 a at -28.99/-36.00.

WP10 meetup site

Barnard's Loop is still visible against the galaxy, even at this distance.

I'll spend a few days here before heading home.

CNE WP9

WP9 "Last Chance Saloon" was on Monkey Head Sector KC-V c2-3 1 at -18.00/47.06.

Last Chance Saloon

Large in the sky was the Monkey Head Nebula.

Next stop - the Crab Nebula, the expedition destination.

CNE WP8

WP8 "Sierra's Ridge" was on Jellyfish Sector DL-Y d50 7 b at 73.67/26.25.

WP8

This meetup site was close to the Jellyfish Nebula.
