Steel and dust.

In our travels in the dark of space, we often come across things that give us pause.

I recently visited a Wolf-Rayet star, high above the galactic plain. To get there, I was forced to infuse my Frame Shift Drive with rare elements to boost my range. I eventually made it to my goal, but realized I had run low on Polonium; an essential part of the synthesis process.

Setting down on a planet in the PLAA EURK region that my Detailed Surface Scanner had located the element on, I immediately picked up man-made signals on my SRV's wavescanner. A short jaunt later, and I came across what appeared to be the long-abandoned, picked-clean remains of some ancient human wreck.

I was not the first to this system, according to Universal Cartographics. Nor to this planet. It is possible there was once more to be seen at this site, before scavengers and explorers passed by.

I leave this image of the scant remains, with this one thought. This could be us, one day. Nothing but a bit of steel in the dust, with nobody to remember us.

Wideboi

It is as I find myself in supercruise, fifty-six thousand light seconds from the nearest star in system, that I decide it might be worth beginning to track my explorative discoveries in a narrative form, and not just the data-points I upload to the Universal Cartographics.

Anything to stave off the space-madness.

Today I encountered quite the odd sight; a Class I Gas Giant, not a rarity in the galaxy by any means, but this colossal white-and-blue monster was wider than it was tall, on its axial tilt. I can only assume, with my amateur explorer's knowledge, that it was due to the moon that sought its orbit in stunning proximity to its parent.

I include in this missve, an image of what I have nicknamed 'Wideboi'. I encourage all to take a trip outside of the bubble once in a while. There are incredible things to be found.
