Serenity

Sector : Hawking's Gap

I've been at it for three days now and the wonders of the universe will never cease to amaze me. There is no experience that can compare to being on the surface of a small planet having my canopy illuminated by a small crater spouting magma while you gaze at the billions stars above. I don't think I have experienced anything more serene.

I have made a few notable discoveries this past few days. At the top of the list was nn earth-like world so blue our own good old earth would be jealous. I wish I could have landed on that planet and see what nature has done down there, but maybe it is for the best that I couldn't. I really do not want to interfere with the evolution of species of another world. We did enough damage on our own home world.

On a more technical side of thing, my Asp Explorer is performing at peak efficiency, I did not have any technical problems so far (except for the clogged toilet). If I take good care of her, she will take good care of me.

Well, it's time to eat a little something before resuming the journey.

See you in black CMDRS

First step

I am there finally. The ten thousands light years trip was more taxing than I anticipated. During the last stage of the journey, I was getting cramps in my legs and my back was killing me. I had to take frequent breaks just to relieve the pain, the Eranine whisky I brought helped a lot too.

It was a one hundred and seventy-five jumps journey from my home planet to the system I have chosen to be the first waypoint of my expedition. From now on, I will use my FSS to scan every celestial bodies I encounter from here to the last waypoint before the return home. I expect to be in the black for about two months.

It's a strange sensation to be alone out here. Having no interaction whatsoever with another human being for months is one the toughest challenge to overcome in the depth of space. At least, I have 'Bub' to keep me company. He is standing there on my dashboard, noding his head constantly. 'Bub' is not an eloquent being, but he listen like no others. I am convince that once, I saw him smile behind his little helmet.

Well, time to rest. The real work begins tomorrow.
