Guardian Ruins

Stardate 3307-2401

I decided to follow the clues to these "Guardians". First, I headed to Felice dock in the Meene system where a mysterious fellow called Ram Tah gave me a mission without me even meeting him. He wanted me to visit various ancient ruins that had been found scattered throughout an area just outside the bubble and decode some active obelisks to learn about these Guardians. Over two days, I managed to visit enough of these sites to collect all the data Ram Tah had requested and so I made my way back to him to pick up a rather nice reward of 111M Credits as well as all of the history about these Guardians and what happened to them. Apparently they also encountered these Thargoids (that I am still yet to see personally) so they have clearly been around for an incredibly long time. While searching for these ancient ruins I also saw various other Guardian structures that seem as though they may contain very powerful data although having learnt about the Guardians and their demise at the hands of their AI, I feel theses sites may be heavily defended so I shall head back to one later to see what I can find.

Thanks to the large reward from Ram Tah, I bought a Krait MkII complete with a fighter hangar and two ship launched imperial fighters to serve as a multicrew with friends from the GTHub squadron.

Goal finished

Stardate 3307-2101

Well, time's up, the trading flurry is now over. We all managed to push enough food into Stillman Hub to generate a 20% discount on all commodities. I personally carried enough food to finish in the top 10% for the first time, gaining a reward of 48M Credits, more than enough to pay for all of the work. Now for the journey back to Adams Orbital where I am thinking about checking out these rumours of the so called "Guardians".

Marlinist colony update

Stardate 3307-1701

After a strong weekend of running trade routes from Stillman Hub to Rolland Port and using the Chieftain to do some bounty hunting and protection for the other traders, we have completed the protection goal and I was in the top 50% of participants so I managed to get myself 20 Million CR in addition to the 24 Million I picked up from the bounties. I am also currently in the top 10% of participants in the trade goal although we have only currently completed Tier 3 so more work is needed if we are to push that higher.

Lordship

Stardate 3307-1401

Success! I have now been promoted to Lord within the Imperial Navy so I have bought an Alliance Chieftain with missiles as my new combat ship saying goodbye to my trusty Vulture. After running some passenger missions I have also bought a Beluga Liner and my word is it a big boi, still more manoeuvrable than my Type 9 though. Also, the newly established Marlinist colonies are struggling with food supplies and protection so I have rushed over there with a cargo hold full of food in my Type 9 and requesting my Alliance Chieftain to arrive there as well to help provide protection (and make some credits for me).

Back home once again

Stardate 3307-1001

After another 240-ish jumps I have finally arrived back at Adam's Orbital in Beta-1 Tucanae. Sold all of my data to Felicity Farseer in Deciat and she has now granted me Grade 5 access so as soon as I collect all the required materials, Grade 5 increased range FSD is incoming.

Also, all of that data has granted me the Explorer rank of Elite within the Pilot's Federation finally as well as gaining me several first discoveries and first mappings and gained me 354 Million CR in the bank. With that money I purchased a Type 9 for trading and a Python for mining.

Over the next few days I will push my Imperial rank up a bit to buy an Alliance Chieftain.

Arrival at Gibb's Bridge

Stardate 3307-0701

After several days of jumping and scanning while keeping up with my remote duties as required, I have arrived at Gibb's Bridge at Syralia JT-V b7-0 A 3 A. Along the way I had some overnight stays on some moons but my favourite stop was landing on Smojue XD-A d1-0 3 C, a small moon orbiting a Gas Giant which produced some stunning pictures.

Anyway, the arrival at Gibb's Bridge was superb and definitely worth all the work it took to get here and having taken data from the ship's computer, I can confirm that the moon does still fit our Astrophysical theories of the roche limit of a planetary system.

Now I've just got to make it safely back to the bubble aiming to see Felicity again in Deciat to sell her company all this data in the hope that she will give me access to her Grade 5 mods.

New Year, New Me

Stardate 3307-0301

It goes without saying that 3306 was a tough year for many with everything that happened. So, in order to hopefully make 3307 a better year, I shall be writing entries in my new logbook when I can.

Anyway, over the last few days I have made some changes to my ships, I sold the old Type 6 that I was no longer using as well as selling the Dolphin to upgrade to an Orca to be my passenger vessel. I have also received a promotion within the Imperial Navy to Knight, getting closer to being able to buy a Clipper as well as being granted the Combat rank of "Competent" by the Pilot's Federation.

Finally, I have set off on my roughly 12,000ly round trip expedition to Gibb's Bridge in my wonderful Asp Explorer. Most systems were fairly standard so far, a few high metal content and metal rich worlds but no earth-like worlds or water worlds yet. However, I did stumble on upon something very interesting a few jumps away from my first waypoint in Praea Euq YH-B b42-1. Upon using the FSS, I noticed there was a notable stellar phenomena so I cruised over there and dropped out to find I had discovered a Proto-Lagrange cloud with a bunch of space crystals which against the blackness of space were very creepy. After that, I made the final few jumps towards my first waypoint at Praea Euq NW-S b46-0, about 1,200ly from Beta-1 Tucanae where I set off. Looking forward to continuing onto my second waypoint over the next week.
