(Krait Phantom)
I've found a couple of planets with high-contrast surfaces - usually very dark brown areas next to bright orange areas. Where the two meet there is usually a bright orange line that stretches for miles.
A recent example was Bla Eohm GX-I d10-2 1. As I flew over the dark areas, the surface details just looked stunning:
I really like how the trenches have lots of rocks and boulders at the bottom.
Found an Earth-Like world with a reasonably close atmospheric moon: Smojoea RS-K d8-3 A 6 a:
Smojoea RS-K d8-3 A 6 is towards the top-right corner.
I'm on the look-out for an atmospheric moon in close orbit with a gas giant...
I'm not sure, but probably Dryoea Flyi VJ-Z d2158 A 2:
Found another new Earth-Like World, Kyloaln MW-I c23-62 A 4:
This one has a landable moon that orbits relatively close: 0.41Ls.
I think might be the 7th ELW Miriel has discovered.
This is the first undiscovered ELW for Miriel : Blau Thua UL-G c13-0 1!
Not too far from the bubble, either. Only 6202Ly from Sol. The landable moon is only 0.96Ls away.
In the Bleae Thaa FM-G c13-0 system, I discovered three Notable Stellar Phenomena POIs. One of them had three different things in it: Purpureum Metallic Crystals, Prasinum Metallic Crystals, and Albulum Gourd Molluscs.
I don't think I've ever seen three different things in one spot.
All the POIs were in the rings of Gas Giants with Water-based Life. It's a shame it was a bit dark.
One of the planets also looks like a nice spot to have a short break from travelling and top up my Polonium in the SRV.
A few days ago while hauling cargo to get the last 10% for Elite Trader, I got a second "tip off":
We have the location of a crashed ship carrying some interesting data. Our source tells us a clean-up crew is on the way, so you only have a few days to collect the data.
Get across to the Mant system first. Then you need to land on Mant A 4 a. Here are the coordinates you'll need: Lat: 9.58, Lon: 1.71.
We've uploaded an encryption key to your systems to allow you access to the data core.
A word to the wise: expect a little opposition. This site hasn't been the best-kept secret.
Be as quick as you can. You'll be against the clock on this one!
Tonight I got around to investigating...
The site turned out to look like a section of a station ring.
In the wreckage I encountered several sentry skimmers, and a Comms Control. Scanning that netted 1.44MCr and a message:
It's been 26 days since we crashed here. No comms, no rescue. We got the Mayday out, but no response. How can they leave us to die out here? You'd think they would at least want their cargo back. I guess the bottom line is, we're acceptable losses.
When I was flying my main account back to the Bubble from Colonia, I noticed that all the "D"-type White Dwarf stars were actually sub-types of "D", such as "DA" or "DBZ".
With the help of ED Astrometrics Data Dumps, I have created a Google Sheet White Dwarf "D" Stars that lists the current erroneously categorized White Dwarf stars in EDSM.
For this account (my alt account) I need to travel to Colonia to unlock the engineers there, and tick off some other exploration boxes. On the way I intend to visit as many of the listed stars as possible and try to clear out the list.
For the trip, I bought, outfitted and engineered a brand new Krait Phantom. Introducing ... the "White Dwarf Surveyor":
I really don't like the Anaconda, but I'm warming to the Krait Phantom for exploration. I can fit most of the bits I want and still get ~66Ly jump range. It flies nice and cool - ~12%, and the 6A fuel scoop slurps up stars like nobodies business.
A rite of passage for all Elite Dangerous commanders...
...now where's my Anaconda?
While prospecting in the Bataenich system, I noticed a "Crashed Ship" POI on Bataenich A 1. The exact location is -41.5387/72.7772.
It is a crashed Anaconda, with a scattering of canisters and escape pods, plus a data core you can scan for about 150KCr. I arrived just before dawn:
A few hours later the local star had risen:
It seems this is a persistent POI.
