Captain's Log, July 7th, 3308

Captain's Log, July 7th, 3308

2:53 PM

The crew of the R/V Sagan is expected to rendezvous at Waypoint Bravo in Hawking's Gap later in the day, but our science teams could not pass up an opportunity to catalogue a beautiful blue water world, with an atmosphere comprised of 82.3% Nitrogen.

3:00 PM

We have discovered a binary system which our science teams estimate is 6,218 million years old, we can assume that both stars formed at around the same time.

The system is comprised of mainly gas giants.

• Two Class I • Two Class II • One Class III An overwhelmingly majority of planetary moons in the system are geologically active with 12 of 29 being active.

4:01 PM

⚠️ ALERT ⚠️

The Sagan has suffered a major casualty. Our only operational Scarab SRV has been destroyed. Our navigation teams are plotting a course for the nearest fleet carrier, The DSSA Kraut in NGC 3199 Sector XJ-A D10, 5,263 lightyears from our current location.

5:51 PM

Following a power surge while in transit to the DSSA Kraut, we have had a catastrophic loss of system, biological, and geological data. This has set back our expedition significantly. We will have to recoup our losses and continue on.

The officers and crew of the DSSA Kraut have been more than welcoming following our slight misfortunes, offering us food, water, and docking for the night as we prepare to cast ourselves off into the black once more.

Captain's Log - July 6th, 3308

Exploration teams encounter a strange, new lifeform - the yellow Osseus Pumice. Genetic samples have been taken and brought back to the R/V Sagan for further analysis overnight

Our exploration teams are still very hard at work at sampling and cataloguing life forms as we make our way to Waypoint Bravo. Teams have successfully brought back samples of Osseus Fractus & Stratum Tectonicas to our main laboratory for storage.

Captain's Log - July 5th, 3308

After some brief holiday routine to celebrate the 4th of July, the crew of the Sagan is back in the groove with exploration as we continue en route to Waypoint Bravo.

Captain's Log - July 4th, 3308

Captain's Log - July 4th, 3308

Navigational teams set a course for the Statue of Liberty nebula on this Fourth of July, where our geological survey teams very carefully analyze silicate magma lava spouts. After collection, samples will be taken back to the Sagan for further analysis.

Continuing our exploration of a high G, geologically active planet, our survey teams come across a silicate vapor vent with temperatures up to 422 degrees Kelvin. Beside the vent, a teams encounter a high density crystal of mercury. I have ordered a small sample to be taken and brought back to the onboard laboratory for analysis and further testing.

Captain's Log - July 3rd, 3308

Captain's Log - July 3rd, 3308

While moving on from Waypoint Alpha to Bravo, our scientific teams make a discovery of two tandem ammonia worlds, teams are quickly dispatched to the surface for biological analysis.

Captain's Log - July 2nd, 3308

Captain's Log - July 2nd, 3308

We reach our first leg of the voyage, Waypoint Alpha, where we encounter a system full of high metal content planets. Our science teams will perform a full seismic analysis on every world.

Captain's Log - July 1st, 3308

Captain's Log - July 1st, 3308

Two terraformable water worlds have been discovered. Our science teams been dispatched and have mapped the entirety of both planets while cataloguing and marking their position for future studies. The Sagan lands on a nearby planet for the night to ensure the officers and crew have a proper nights rest. I have ordered to stand down all non-essential watches.

Captain's Log - June 30th, 3308

After dusting off from an unnamed planet in the NGC 3532 Sector we continue on our voyage once more. Stopping briefly in a few systems to take in the sights of two proto-planets.

The Sagan's frame shift drive has sustained minor damages as we attempt to speed our rendezvous with Waypoint Alpha. We have taken some time to ensure proper repairs are being done and will be on our way shortly.

Captain's Log - June 29th, 3308

Captain's Log - June 29th, 3308

With the officers and crew of the Sagan back onboard and briefed on the mission at hand, we set out on our perilous journey from Thompson Dock with high hopes of cataloguing strange new worlds with interesting flora.

While exploring an unnamed system in the NGC 3532 Sector, our engineering teams have spotted early paint flaking. Fearing more imminent damage, scout teams inspect the outer hull of the Sagan for more damages.

Ammonia and Oxygen

What hellish life lies beneath the veil?

Ammonia and Oxygen, these are the chemicals that make up the atmosphere of this alien world. It is active with both ammonia-based chemistry and ammonia-based life. The Odyssey Galactic Expedition has taken me farther than I've ever been. We'll be arriving at Beagle Point sometime next week I believe, well, those that chose to stay with the fleet carriers of course.
