DW2 Log #1: Launch Day

And off we go! Managed to do some last minute outfitting, in form of changing a class 4 vehicle hangar to a class 6 one. It will be more comfortable knowing I have 3 SRVs to spare, not just one. Other than that, grabbed a rack full of limpets and set off to the meetup point near Brooks Point. After a while we moved to the DW tourist beacon and there awaited the final countdown. It was quite exciting, I have to say. Waiting for everyone with anticipation. And then finally jumping together, side by side with other Condas, Belugas and ships of all kinds. This is my first event like this, and I loved it.

Now I'm off on my own, until the next Waypoint. Will probably visit a few known interesting places on my way, hopefully I'll meet someone there as well. First stop: Shapley 1.

DW2 Final Preparations

Distant Worlds 2 expedition starts tomorrow. My ship is already prepared, though I've decided to swap the life support for an A-rated one on the last minute - just in case. Neutron stars and white dwarfs sure can toss you around, and those extra minutes of emergency oxygen definitely will be useful in case my canopy breaks. Applied a lightweight mod to it too.

I've also added chaffs and flak cannons, or in other words, fireworks, for celebratory reasons. Squeezed in a research limpet controller too. Never used it before, so I paid Electra system a visit and poked a thargoid interceptor with it. He didn't seem to like it too much, but the limpet worked as it should have.

Other than that, now I just need to stock up on limpets and make it to Pallaeni, which I plan to do a few hours before the launch. Really excited about the expedition, and perhaps assisting some Commanders with my repair limpets, as one of the Hull Seals.
