Colonia Arrival

I have now arrived at Colonia. The journey was not as long as I suspected it would be; the neutron star highway really expedited the process. There were a few bumps along the way, mainly my FSD suffering from continual degeneration. By the time I landed at Colonia Hub, my FSDs integrity was only at 32%. But, nevertheless, I am happy to be here. I will rest for a couple of days, then set out for Sagittarius A*. Maybe if I'm feeling it, I'll head to Beagle Point after I see the supermassive black hole with my own two eyes.

Inner Scutum-Centaurus Arm Reached

I have reached the Flyiedge IJ-F d12-34 system, marking my first arrival in the Inner Scutum-Centaurus Arm. I still have about 12,000 light-years to go to reach Colonia.

A Change of Plans

After some internal debating, I decided to detour my trip to Sagittarius A* by first heading to Colonia. I figured that the angle of deviation is shallow enough that I can still get to the Galactic Center at a reasonable date. In addition to that, the ship I am now using is the ASP Explorer. The reason for that switch was simply because the Anaconda evolved into a battleship loadout, and it just ended up being easier to buy an ASPx and fit it for jumping than reconfigure the Anaconda.

I also recently discovered the existence of an FSD booster powered by ancient Guardian technology. Pushing back my trip to today, yesterday I visited HD 63154 B 3 a in the HD 63154 system. It was a rocky world that has been reported to be home to some sort of Guardian data center. Upon approach to the planet's surface, the structure, though worn, was easily visible. I landed my Anaconda about 3.5km north-east of the structure. I then proceeded to the structure in my SRV. To my surprise, there were still active Guardian sentries that awoke to my presence. After dealing with the sentries, I discovered a module in the north of the facility which reacted to my presence. There were nodes which could be powered by kinetic energy that arose out of the structure's surface. After shooting several of these around the facility, and more sentries, I returned to the active module, where it asked for an offering. Luckily, I had picked up a couple of Guardian relics and presenting them to the machine activated the data center's primary information hub. A large spherical object arose out of the module, and upon scanning it, I discovered among the files a blueprint for the fabled FSD booster. I quickly gathered additional resources from the data center and drove back to the Anaconda. I'd say the whole investigation lasted about 50 minutes.

After taking off, I set a course for Marius Station in the Aarti system, where a Guardian technology broker could be found. The broker was successfully able to use my materials and blueprint to make the FSD booster. I then quickly went to Lowry Ring in the Lalande 4268 system where my ASPx was waiting for me. After fitting the ship with the booster, I visited engineer Felicity Farseer at her company's HQ where she hooked me up with better modifications for my FSD drive. After all was said and done, I had a jump range of a little over 50 light-years.

Today I set out from Farseer Inc. to begin my journey to Colonia. I decided to use the neutron star highway, a method by which pilots would fly their ships into the energy cones of neutron stars and use the extra power to supercharge their FSD drives and get insane jump ranges. I have never attempted this risky maneuver before, but it was either that or take a journey that was over 1,200 jumps. Luckily, I didn't have too much of a problem performing the maneuver. I traveled all the way to the Bleia Eohn VK-N b39-0 system, one of many systems I was the first to discover along the way. I touched down for the day at Bleia Eohn VK-N b39-0 A 4, a red, rocky planet that reminded me a little bit of Mars before terraformation. Tomorrow I will continue on my journey and hopefully find another neutron star I can use.

Anaconda Secured

Today was a day focused on upgrading my fleet. The inspiration for me spending time doing so is so I can take my first galactic road trip, one that's set on a course to Sagittarius A*.

Using my Viper Mk. IV, Wolfsbane, I went mining for Void Opals with a 16T cargo capacity. Not the best strategy, in hindsight, but it worked good enough that I was able to afford a Type-9 Heavy from Larkon. With the ~350T cargo capacity, this ship expedited the process immensely. A couple of hours later I had collected and sold enough Void Opals and Low-Temperature Diamonds to afford the Faulcon DeLacy Anaconda.

First stop with the Anaconda was engineer Felicity Farseer, with who I managed to increase jump range to a little over 20LY. After doing some work for Universal Cartographics to secure enough money to cover insurance in case things went south, I began the hunt for materials for Felicity to use to further increase my jump range.

My goal as of now is to see if I can start the journey to the Galactic Center by Saturday.
