A most interesting day
The day a father can help his kid launch their first ship into the great beyond. That is a day of which he can be proud.
I'd imagine watching my kids get their Pilot's Federation license and take their first trip outside of the station is much like parents watch their kids operating one of those "automobiles" on Earth for the first time: terrifying yet satisfying.
Just watch out in the mail slot...
