A moon full of water

I am now way below the plane of the galaxy, and I like it here. Stars are scarce, but those stars that are here are fantastic. There are so many star remnants, including white dwarves, carbon stars, and neutron stars. But I have yet to find a black whole in the region.

But so far I have found a purple gas giant! And no, I checked the image twice, it is truly purple and not just a creation of space madness. And I also found a gas giant moon that is a water world.

So here I am

After a few more days of travel, I have finally arrived where I meant to go: GRU DRYOU EZ-A C29-1. It started out as a random system, in a random area of the galaxy, in a random height from the galactic plane. Like when you put your finger on a globe of the Earth, then give it a good spin and travel wherever it chooses to stop.

And boy is the system underwhelming. One gas giant, two small planets, two suns. And that is it. No habitable planets. No teraformable planets. No anomalies. Not even a small moon to land on.

But the journey ain't over yet, now I can at least explore the galactic neighbour of my random, and underwhelming destination.

My third excursion into deep space

This is now my third attempt at reaching GRU DRYOU EZ-A C29-1. My first attempt was made with my trusty ship Harbinger MK.I, and although it lacked engineering upgrades it got me 1/3 of the way there before I was recalled back home. I learned much about deep space exploration on that trip, and the experience I gained serves me to this day.

The second attempt was made with the same ship, although Mrs. Martuuk was kind enough to help me boost the jump range on the engine. Other commanders also gave me valuable advice on how to outfight my Krait Phantom to increase my survivability in deep space. This time I got about halfway there, before I was recalled yet again. But the reason for the recall was a good one: A good friend, and fellow commander, wished to explore Guardian ruins to gain the blueprint of the fabled Guardian FSD booster. And although we succeeded, it was quite the harrowing adventure, with many near death experiences that I will remember for eternity.

But now I am here again. I left my Krait back home and switched to a DBX. While the Krait is a stellar ship, it is also large, bulky, and blocks a large chunk of the view with its wings. The DBX has better range, and its smaller frame is quite the blessing when landing on planets. I am almost 2/3 on the way to GRU DRYOU EZ-A C29-1, and so far my Harbinger MK II. has performed excellently. Wish me luck.
