It was the the intention to keep heading to Beagle. I reached Izananmi some 40Kly from Sol. I was happily topping up with Tritium after some Exo when I saw the Galnet announcement of the launch of the New Mandalay
I do like shiny new toys, and a new explorer ship is too much of a temptation, although without some engineering it'd be as useful as tits on a flat fish
So an about turn was made. The advantage of constantly topping off my hold with Tritium, meant I had no fuel worries, which is good since I had around 80 Fleet carrier jumps ahead of me!
Two weeks on I'm still 12K LY out from my initial target of HIP 12099, where I intend to start refilling my Engineering mats, after all since I'll be in the location I may as well tweak my T8 and Python mkII too
but at least this close in, Exobiology is more lucrative, not that I really need the cash but it does break up the boredom of endless carrier jumps
Current Location is Nyuenooe NR-W c1-194 26,057 LY from Sol
It's been a learning experience since I departed all those months and over 100 Fleet Carrier jumps ago. First I headed to Colonia, where I was able to pick up some SCO FSDs.
Currently only my Mining cutter has one equipped, since they all need engineering for range, and since my Carrier is always stationed close to the Tritium source, distance doesn't matter. The SCO boost is handy to break away from the Gas Giant Though
I was a bit disappointed with Colonia, not sure what I expected, but I didn't' hang around for more than a few days before pointed the Sapere Aude at Sagittarius A*
When mining in the black, you don't have to worry about pirates and of course I forgot close to Colonia. Thankfully with with the SCO I could just boost away.
Sag A while cool was only a brief stop. The system is full of Fleet carriers just parked taking up space, and I had other things planned. I'd booked market some systems where I could discover Black holes and Neutron Stars which is how I eventually ended up here.
Tomorrow I'll top off just 313T of Trit, before a quick Jump to Byoomi PZ-O e6-5855 (The Centaurus Festival) for some sight seeing, some more Exo Bio before embarking on my next mission - Beagle point (with with a Fleet Carrier is no mean feat
But that's for another time
Well Commanders, my quick Exo Bio expedition paid more that expected. With 16Billion now burning a hole in my pocket, Off I went and purchased my very own FC the Sapere Aude (Latin for "Dare to know")
A quick trip to the Cauani System and "park" the Carrier next to Bentham Terminal, and I was able fill up with 24K tons of Tritium. No stress with 32 round trips of only 5 mins, and at the time the cheapest in the region at 47.5k. Yeah I know I'm cheap with all this money sloshing around, but old habits die hard
A final trip to Jameson Memorial to buy and outfit 2 more ships and get a few extra modules and that was that
Of course commanders, I made the school boy error of not testing the builds in the bubble and forgetting a couple of modules, not finding out until I was 1500ly outside the bubble
I didn't want to hang about too long, not wanting to be one of those carriers hogging a space in a system, so started my route out to Colonia.
It'll be a slow journey as I intent to keep topping up with Tritium by mining as I go as well as some exploration and Exo Biology each week.
If you are in the black CMDRs in need of assistance, my landing pads are open to all, with no surcharge on Refuel, Repair and Rearm, and also have Vista Genomics and Universal Cartographics open so you can cash in your data. These services don't take a charge off you, turning in Codex though does incur a 25% charge - its automatic and out of my control
Anyway CMDRs enough rabbiting from me, I have some Jumps to make

Today I almost bought the farm out in the black. Not paying attention I hit a planet and took my hull down to 30%. Of course I don't have repair limpets on my Krait, something which I'll rethink
"only" being 3.3kLy out it was a simple 60 jump journey back to the bubble while considering my life choices. I took to opportunity to visit and dock in Sol, becuase once I finish my micro expedition in Exo biology, I'll be otherwise focussed on the purchase of a Fleet Carrier, and getting it set up and its tanks filled with Tritium.
I could afford one now, but I wanted another 8bn as a cushion which at my current rate should only take a week or so.
Then to decide what I want to do. Is it out to Colonia or Beagle point etc? Currently I'm leaning to the former but there's so many cool things out there, no doubt I'll be in the black for a good while.
