Neutron star highway run to Sky Motion
  • 09 may 3303

Mary Campos (apparently a Famous Explorer) offered me 20 million credits to go from Millerport in the Quince system to a Tourist site named Sky Motion in the "Xeehaei BE-E d13-7" system. She and her crew only consisted of 4 people total, so i could accept the job, using my Lakon ASP Explorer, which has a 5 seater first class passenger cabin and normally has a jumprange of over 52 lightyears. Although with the extra weight of the passengers, it's now a bit less than 50ly range. Still good enough to undertake such a long journey.

Since the trip is well over 10,000 lightyears, i took the Neutron Star "highway" route. This adds another 3000 lightyears, but gives me the oppertunity to discover and scan the Neutron Stars and other points of interest along the way. I'm reluctant to supercharge using the Neutron Star beams, afraid it will damage my Lakon ASP ship beyond repair, so for now I'm just passing through, scanning most systems.

Sofar i've discovered two new Neutron Stars, a number of terraformable waterworlds and some Earth like worlds. Luckily no contact (yet) with the "unknown alien ships", which have been reported by other commanders in the past months. Let's hope this will be a successful journey.

We've reached "Sky Motion", which is a tourist site overlooking a small planet that is very close to a Neutron Star. I've plotted a direct course back to Quince, and hope to be back at the end of this day.

We arrived back in Quince, late at night, but without any problems. No hull damage or any other malfunction. Received my payment from Mary, and sold my exploration data for 31 million credits.

Maia

First thing i did in Elite, on day one, was to head to Maia. Unfortunately, scanning did not put your name on having it discovered it first, but i'm pretty sure i should be the one having discovered it!
