Usual story. Y brown dwarf, icy planets, no settlements, no population, no POI, no nothing. Not even atmospheres or moons.

YZ Ceti

Tau Ceti's poor (and boring) neighbor. M dwarf with a collection of icy bodies around it, and a pair of L and T dwarfs. There are some bounty hunting opportunities in rings (two gas giants, one with a station, one with an outpost, and an icy planet). Other than that, nothing interesting.

Tau Ceti

Prominent system from SF stories, it's a lore rich place in Elite universe. First colony outside the Solar system, first alien life discovered (and promptly exterminated), terraformed ELW with crops covering almost entire surface. There are a couple more planets and four starports in system. One of the stations has interesting orbit, flying around star itself at great distance. Fourth planet is also somewhat interesting, due to highly eccentric orbit. There is a plethora of visitor beacons, so visit this system if you want to read some stories of ancient times. Single Herald article is community goal remnant.

SPF-LF 1

Another unpopulated system full of icy planets. One landable moon to sit back and enjoy the view.

Epsilon Indi

This is large population agricultural system, with two terraformed ELW (Lee and New Africa) specializing at farming cattle. Other than green pastures, this system is famous for its rare good — Indi Bourbon, strong and potent alcoholic drink. There are four major stations and numerous surface settlements. But main attraction here is tiny rocky moon orbiting third planet. There's a tourist beacon here, commemorating the start of Crab Nebula Expedition. It is famous Mitterand Hollow — a moon with shortest orbital period in known universe. It's difficult to even land there - it can outrun a ship in supercruise! If you manage to land, prepare for short and repetative, but spectacular "Earthrise" show.

There's a prison base on the moon. I sure hope those prisoners' don't have windows — or they would get mad long before serving their term. There's also a salvageable wreckage field near New Africa. Second star is T dwarf with seven icy planets 800k ls away from entry point. There's nothing there that warrants travelling THIS long.

Groombridge 34

Double M-class star with a sizable planetary system (of mostly icy bodies). Most settlements appear on or around the closest planets — a pair of HMCs very close to the first star — Gold and Jaya, New America — terraformed ELW near the second star, and a rocky planet named Lyons. Other bodies are either not landable or have only minor settlements. Citizens of New America sure have a great view of their star. There's a scientific installation near the A4 planet. It has a few satellites with data and some traffic around it. No Herald articles.

Struve 2398

Unpopulated double star system. Second star (which you arrive at) has seven balls of ice (or rocky ice) orbiting it. Nothing particularly interesting here.

Procyon

Procyon is a F-class star with its white dwarf companion. This combination is common in bubble but virtually nonexistent elsewhere in Elite's universe. There's an asteroid belt and planetary system around white dwarf. And it's packed with Earth-like worlds, two of them sharing the same orbit. Of course, all are terraformed — natural occurrence of such kind is next to impossible. Main star has only one planet with a landable moon. It also has some settlements. In total, there are 5 starports and 4 surface settlements with landing facilities in system. 18 billion people live in this system, making it one of the larger bastions of mankind in Federation space. Sadly, population is concentrated in remote (~10000 ls) parts of the system, making it less attractive for visiting commanders. Single Herald article refers to community goal completed long ago. Near the fifth planet there is a visitor beacon and capital ship. On the far orbit around the white dwarf there's a commercial outpost — I've seen not many stations of this type. More images here.

61 Cygni

Contrary to many of SF-genre novels, system of 61 Cygni in Elite is not very special. There are two dwarf stars, four planets and an asteroid belt (not of usual near the star kind). There's volcanism on first planet, and we have a POI set up for a rock fumarole there. This location is damn well worth the visit — planet is orbiting close to the star, so there's great view. Volcanic field is quite large and rare materials are there in abundancy. Second and third planets are also landable, with human settlements in and around third planet. There are no herald articles.

EZ Aquarii

Two stars and only one high metal content planet with a Coriolis station and a single landable settlement. Not very much to see here, but system supports high tech economy, so it's a source of valuable goods and it has advanced outfitting features and good ship stock. Single herald article is a freelance report about some player faction.
