First Footfall

I'm not sure, but probably Dryoea Flyi VJ-Z d2158 A 2:

First Footfall

Leaving

ELW with close moon

Found another new Earth-Like World, Kyloaln MW-I c23-62 A 4:

Kyloaln MW-I c23-62 A 4

This one has a landable moon that orbits relatively close: 0.41Ls.

I think might be the 7th ELW Miriel has discovered.

First Undiscovered ELW

This is the first undiscovered ELW for Miriel : Blau Thua UL-G c13-0 1!

Blau Thua UL-G c13-0 1

Not too far from the bubble, either. Only 6202Ly from Sol. The landable moon is only 0.96Ls away.

Triple Notable Stellar Phenomena

In the Bleae Thaa FM-G c13-0 system, I discovered three Notable Stellar Phenomena POIs. One of them had three different things in it: Purpureum Metallic Crystals, Prasinum Metallic Crystals, and Albulum Gourd Molluscs.

Notable Stellar Phenomena

I don't think I've ever seen three different things in one spot.

All the POIs were in the rings of Gas Giants with Water-based Life. It's a shame it was a bit dark.

One of the planets also looks like a nice spot to have a short break from travelling and top up my Polonium in the SRV.

Tip Off 2

A few days ago while hauling cargo to get the last 10% for Elite Trader, I got a second "tip off":

We have the location of a crashed ship carrying some interesting data. Our source tells us a clean-up crew is on the way, so you only have a few days to collect the data.

Get across to the Mant system first. Then you need to land on Mant A 4 a. Here are the coordinates you'll need: Lat: 9.58, Lon: 1.71.

We've uploaded an encryption key to your systems to allow you access to the data core.

A word to the wise: expect a little opposition. This site hasn't been the best-kept secret.

Be as quick as you can. You'll be against the clock on this one!

Tonight I got around to investigating...

The site turned out to look like a section of a station ring.

Wreckage

In the wreckage I encountered several sentry skimmers, and a Comms Control. Scanning that netted 1.44MCr and a message:

It's been 26 days since we crashed here. No comms, no rescue. We got the Mayday out, but no response. How can they leave us to die out here? You'd think they would at least want their cargo back. I guess the bottom line is, we're acceptable losses.

White Dwarf Surveyor

When I was flying my main account back to the Bubble from Colonia, I noticed that all the "D"-type White Dwarf stars were actually sub-types of "D", such as "DA" or "DBZ".

With the help of ED Astrometrics Data Dumps, I have created a Google Sheet White Dwarf "D" Stars that lists the current erroneously categorized White Dwarf stars in EDSM.

For this account (my alt account) I need to travel to Colonia to unlock the engineers there, and tick off some other exploration boxes. On the way I intend to visit as many of the listed stars as possible and try to clear out the list.

For the trip, I bought, outfitted and engineered a brand new Krait Phantom. Introducing ... the "White Dwarf Surveyor":

White Dwarf Surveyor

I really don't like the Anaconda, but I'm warming to the Krait Phantom for exploration. I can fit most of the bits I want and still get ~66Ly jump range. It flies nice and cool - ~12%, and the 6A fuel scoop slurps up stars like nobodies business.

Hutton Orbital

A rite of passage for all Elite Dangerous commanders...

Hutton Orbital

...now where's my Anaconda?

Crashed Ship on Bataenich A 1

While prospecting in the Bataenich system, I noticed a "Crashed Ship" POI on Bataenich A 1. The exact location is -41.5387/72.7772.

It is a crashed Anaconda, with a scattering of canisters and escape pods, plus a data core you can scan for about 150KCr. I arrived just before dawn:

Crashed Anaconda

A few hours later the local star had risen:

Crashed Anaconda at dawn

It seems this is a persistent POI.

Tip Off

Two days ago while I was in the Cocoyet system I received a tip off:

We've heard about a crash site with a reported treasure trove of cargo canisters. But the real prize is the ship's data core. Our contact mentioned that a recovery crew is scheduled to be sent out in a couple of weeks. So you have until then to scan the core and pick up the data.

You'll find the site at Lat: 5.19, Lon: 143.15. on the surface of Pleiades Sector IH-V c2-16 D 2 in the Pleiades Sector IH-V c2-16 system. You'll need the encryption key for the data core, so I've uploaded it to your ship's systems.

When I got there the site was in darkness:

Tip Off Site

The site is private, and entering incurred a 1000Cr bounty. I found the Crew Log message:

I know they say space travel is a lonely business, but nothing prepares you for being totally alone like this. No comms, no ships. What I wouldn't give to hear another person's voice right now.

Very sad, but worth 1.5MCr.

As I was leaving the system to visit the nearest Interstellar Factor (in Maia) I got jumped by some locals:

Thargoid Interceptors

Thankfully, they just scanned me and moved on.

The site is persistant (edit: no, it isn't - it has since been 'cleaned up' and is no longer there), so the next day I was able to return to the tip off site and found the local star had risen, giving a much better view of it:

Unlocking Guardian Vessels

One of the last Guardian items to unlock were the vessels (ship-launched fighters). I found a beacon in the Codex in the HIP 36823 system. When I got there I found an amazing view of the nearby gas giant and local star blurred out by the clouds surrounding the beacon:

Guardian Beacon

To minimise time travelling around, I have been visiting the Guardian Technology Broker in Synuefe EN-H d11-96. It's possible to unlock all the vessels and the small weapons with only Guardian materials. Unlocking modules and larger weapons requires extra commodities found only in the bubble. By unlocking as much as possible while out in Guardian space, it's possible to load up enough Guardian materials to unlock the rest when you get back to the bubble without needed to fly back out.
