Hillary Depot.

I've made it, in one piece and a good chunk of fuel left in my tank - looks like the GalMap routing system in my ship was working just fine.

Ahhh so it's located within a crater, alright then...one of my favourite parts about landing on a planet, is seeing something like this through my canopy and my HUD.

I might just double check though the next time I route for my second leg of my trip. There was a point I was down to about 20-percent...that, got me a little anxious. That's the lowest I've been on fuel ever in my piloting life. Call me over-cautious, but as much as I know the Fuel Rats are out there to help - I'd rather not have to call on them if I can help it.

Welcomed by the tower as I come in to land, finally the sounds and voices of civilisation - and my first official encounter with those from the Colonia Council. Apparently there's some unrest going within the system, and so after a few friendly conversations, I decided to make a few...donations...to assist with the issues.

Sounds like I'll be making more donations as I continue down the Connection Highway - but that's ok. As the Path Rangers are supporters of the Council, it's only right we lend a hand when we can.

Besides, the credits I'll get from all this astronomical data will cover me just fine.

Anyway, the first leg of my trip is complete. It's actually nice to hear the sounds of civilisation as it were. 45 jumps. It was a decent trek, but according to my notes that's probably the shortest leg I have, and the ones ahead are even longer.

I better head to bed and get some rest, prepare myself for the next leg. Destination : Amundsen Terminal in the Lagoon Sector.

So here I sit in Mars High, contemplating the next big step in my life as an explorer.

I've flown to hundreds of systems, mainly either within or not far from "The Bubble" - but it's time I spread my wings a bit.

Recently I was accepted as a Recruit in the Path Rangers, and I'm quite excited to be completely honest. They recently put a call out for new recruits and well, let's just say learning from veterans of exploration sounded like a damn good idea. Plus I suppose it's a personal challenge for myself.

And so, as I received the papers confirming my application and acceptance as a new recruit - we get tasked with what can only be called a "Rite of Passage", not just for a new Path Rangers recruit - but for almost any pilot out there really.

COLONIA

It's where the Path Rangers make their home, and it's where all new recruits must travel to.

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

I did a bit of homework, and found the Colona Connection Highway information. There's definitely a few stops to make, and hell there are plenty of other noted places to visit along the way but - I'm trying to decide what I want to do. Do I hit the Highway and jump it all the way to Colonia? Or do I just relax and get myself a little lost along the way and see what's out there...

...either way, I thought I'd better start writing in this logbook of mine. Share my thoughts, my feelings - and whatever else I feel like putting in here as my journey begins.
