All the recent rampant discout got me thinking about giving some respite to my poor aspEx and getting more specialized ships... I've been switching the gear on the asp explorer and back for everything from visiting systems thousands of light years from the nearest fleet carrier, to sniping targets in combat zones way out of my league, to buying eggs on sunday 5 minutes before the store closes.

Now i suck at planning and even more so at outfitting ships, but a quick search and i've run down the list of ships good for what i need.

Combat:

• Federal dropship (Discount)
• ?keep the aspEx?

Exploration:

• Type-6 Transporter
• Type-7 Transporter (Discount)
• ?keep the aspEx?

Trade:

• Type-7 Transporter (Discount)
• ?keep the aspEx?

I think i'll run to get and arm the dropship as soon as i can. The type-6 sucks and isn't even on discout, But the type7 is quite the investment. It can't land at outposts but 50 more jumps isn't a major factor in the grand scale of things. It's cockpit shape should make things interesting.
