FumarolE or FumarolA?

One is more like a geological signal and the other has been considered biological. But which is which? A fumarolE is an opening in a planet's crust that allows gases and dissolved minerals from deep below the surface to eject into the surroundings. FumerolA are a genus of alien organism found on planets and moons with thin atmospheres across the galaxy. They appear to grow on certain types of FumarolEs and they have a clonal colony range of 100m.

Collared Pod

A Collared Pod is a non-sentient, spacefaring entity that inhabits Lagrange Clouds. It appears to be a plant-like organism with multiple bioluminescent spots on either side of its body. While it does not visibly react to light, if a ship approaches it, it will constantly alter its position so that one of its sides is facing the ship.

There are four known types of Collared Pods:

  • Albidus Collared Pod
  • Blattinus Collared Pod
  • Livens Collared Pod
  • Rubicundus Collared Pod

Collared Pods have been found exclusively in the Inner Orion Spur galactic region systems.

Aster Trees ans Aster Pods

Aster Trees are massive plant-like organic structures found in Notable Stellar Phenomena. Their limbs are tipped with Aster Pods. They are not trees in the traditional sense but are long-lived and extremely hardy space-based organisms.

There are five known types of Aster Pods, but only three Aster Trees were discovered:

  • Cereum Aster Tree/Pod
  • Lindigoticum Aster Pod
  • Puniceum Aster Pod
  • Prasinum Aster Tree/Pod
  • Rubellum Aster Tree/Pod

Aster Trees/Pods have been found exclusively in the Formorian Frontier galactic region systems.

Research Limpets can extract Pod Core Tissue, Pod Surface Tissue, or Pod Dead Tissue from Aster Pods.

Octahedral Pod

Octahedral Pods are seed pods that are produced by Void Hearts and found in Notable Stellar Phenomena.

Octahedral Pods have been observed to release clouds of spores that can inflict caustic damage to unshielded ships that venture into them, with a small amount of damage being applied to ship's shields if they are active.

There are five known types of Octahedral Pods:

  • Blatteum Octahedral Pod
  • Caeruleum Octahedral Pod
  • Niveum Octahedral Pod
  • Rubeum Octahedral Pod
  • Viride Octahedral Pod

Octahedral Pods have been found exclusively in the Empyrean Straits galactic region systems.

Research Limpets can extract Pod Core Tissue, Pod Surface Tissue, or Pod Dead Tissue from Octahedral Pods.

Quadripartite pods

Quadripartite Pods are seed pods found in Notable Stellar Phenomena. They have a thick husk that protects their fleshy interior from the vacuum of space. There are four known types of Quadripartite Pods:

  • Albidium Quadripartite Pod
  • Blatteum Quadripartite Pod
  • Caeruleum Quadripartite Pod
  • Viride Quadripartite Pod

Quadripartite Pods have been found exclusively in the Lyra's Song galactic region systems.

Research Limpets can extract Pod Core Tissue, Pod Surface Tissue, or Pod Dead Tissue from Quadripartite Pods.

Rhizome Pods

Rhizome Pods are seed pods found in Notable Stellar Phenomena. Unlike other spaceborne seed pods, the parent organism of Rhizome Pods has not been identified, and they may be entirely self-contained. There are five known types of Rhizome Pod:

  • Candidum Rhizome Pod
  • Cobalteum Rhizome Pod
  • Grypseeum Rhizome Pod
  • Purpureum Rhizome Pod
  • Rubeum Rhizome Pod

Rhizome Pods have been found exclusively in the Tenebrae galactic region systems.

Research Limpets can extract Pod Core Tissue, Pod Surface Tissue, or Pod Dead Tissue from Rhizome Pods.

Two-headed snake squad

After a while, I decided to leave my old and dead squad to form a new one. At this time, I invited a friend to represent the two heads of the snake and other CMDRs to be the squad's jaws, muscles, and guts. The idea is to play together. As all must know, ED can be played solo and in teams. There are many advantages to playing in a team: combat, trade, mine, and now explorer. For now, we are just six CMDRs but we are making the difference. For instance, alone I am top 900 in Inara´s rank. If you look for a Two-headed snake in the exploration leaderboard, we are in the top 300 in-game! So far, so good! Feel invited to join us someday!

Expedition experiences

Dear CMDRs, this is the second time I have led an expedition. The main result to me is to meet other CMDRs from all over the globe. This is not a surprise for an MMO game but when we play "Solo" we play solo! When we get to know other colleagues interested in the same game, they start playing something and end up playing other things It is also natural. So, it is nice to consider playing the game in other ways and explore it (literally) better. First I participated in someone´s expedition to learn how to make it, second I organized my own. Along with friendship, we learn better how to play teaming up with other CMDRs. Here are some examples: (1) I learned that we can transport CMDRs from a station to the FC like an APEX does. Once on foot the CMDR went to the shipyard and managed to use the ship he/she left behind. We also went out to mine. In the team-up game, we can share limpets and mine more efficiently. Now we plan to scan biological signals together. You probably know that some species are hard to find! What if each CMDR is responsible for finding one sample?! The other two mark their position and all get all credits!!! Share other games with us and enjoy playing together!

Eureka, road to riches to explorers

I was struggling to use "Nearest stars" addon from EDDiscovery to find nice systems to visit and I learned by accident something much better!!! If one goes to the Galaxy Map and sets Map Mode User Data Visited Stars to "Not visited", you will see only systems not visited in the game. Not only systems that were not visited by you like it is in EDD!!! When you trace a route in this mode you will pass only through systems not visited and it will make your scanning much more interesting, profitable and unique!!!! This game always surprises me!!! This is our Road to Riches in exploration :):):)

Second expedition to the 4th Quadrant launched

On January 13, 3310, we launched the second expedition to the 4th quadrant. This is an initiative to explore the three spirals of the 4th quadrant. The first leg of this expedition comprised the outer spiral and traveled very close to the outer rim of our galaxy. The second leg focuses on the middle spiral. So far, twelve CMDRs registered to fulfill this adventure. This expedition is much longer than the first with 7-day stops. This was a request from the CMDRs participating in the first leg. They claimed to have more time to explore in detail each waypoint. I hope all CMDRs level up their explorer and exobiologist ranks. See you out there!
