Interstellar cartography

Today I reached Synuefe BZ-I c12-7 with minor damage to my ship. My throttle got stuck when dropping out of FSD a few systems back, but lucky for me, the damage was minimal. There is no need to put my AFRU to work just yet.

According to my computer, this system has been visited before, but the coordinates where unknown to the Star Map initiative. This issue has been resolved when my secondary mapping system uploaded information on this system to their database. As the planets are completely unmapped, I am currently conducting extensive surface scans on all of them. There seem to be a lot of resources and several landable bodies here, so I may even take time to pick up a few resources with my SRV so I can use these for synthesis later on.

In between the surface scans, I've accessed the Star Map Initiative database to calculate the distance between this system and others that do not have known coordinates yet. Hopefully this wy, there will be another few systems in their database with known coordinates. I plan on calculating the distance to these systems from Hell Port once I get there, hopefully increasing the number of systems with known coordinates even more.

Into the dark

HD 21229. It's the furthest I've ever been away from the bubble. I visited it over a year ago in my Diamondback Explorer. Now that I managed to earn enough credits with trade and some exploration near the bubble, I feel confident enough to go deeper and further this time. Just me and my pristine Asp Explorer.

I didn't engineer any parts. Some may feel it is foolish, but personally I feel my expedition will be all about getting experience. A 33 light year jump range is enough to get where I am going. I brought an SRV along to gather materials on planets to synthesize anything I may need, including the odd FSD boost or AFMU charge.

My first stop will be Hell Port in Seagull Sector DL-Y d3. There I can stop for supplies and repairs (if needed) and see if there are still uncharted systems nearby. From there I will venture towards the Orion Spur Shallows. I'm sure I won't make it towards the end of the arm, but there must be millions of uncharted systems and wonders to see in this region of space. I'm dying to find out.
