The Grand Tour of Bright Star Catalogue, vol. 14

Next intended target was HR 1. As the furthest star in the same sector of space was AO Cassiopeiae, that was the target of the first leg.

The Grand Tour of Bright Star Catalogue, vol. 13

Had a long hiatus without playing the game at all. Before that fetched rewards and participated in some community goals while fighting some Thargoids. Now back on the task, but more abot that in the next volume.

The Grand Tour of Bright Star Catalogue, vol. 12

Spent a few more community goals mostly doing missions and playing other games, but now was a good time to return to the task and explore the Pleiades.

The Grand Tour of Bright Star Catalogue, vol. 11

During the community goal shipping medicines to He Bo, Duamta and Cemiess systems I visited fourteen more systems on the list. Next it's time to test my new VR set and hit some war zones.

The Grand Tour of Bright Star Catalogue, vol. 10

Then was time to visit some more stars in the black and head back home to help in community goals. Found some more systems that require extensive planning before a visit should be attempted as they are behind yet another exclusion zone.

The Grand Tour of Bright Star Catalogue, vol. 9

Continued my journey across the Orion constellation and towards the Witch Head Nebula. Today's main targets were Saiph, Mintaka, Alnitak and Rigel, the last of the unvisited named systems in the Orion constellation. Epsilon Orionis (Alnilam) was left for the next session.

Systems visited: 251/8897 (2.82%)

The Grand Tour of Bright Star Catalogue, vol. 8

Then it was time to explore rest of the named stars in the Orion system targetting the belt and the feet. After hitting twenty new systems on the list, includig none of the named systems, I decided to call it a night and continue later.

The Grand Tour of Bright Star Catalogue, vol. 7

Continued out from the Betelegeuse. After raeaching five systems I hit a region that could not be entered with any known system permit and had to reroute. Decided to head out to Bellatrix at the other shoulder of Orion and continue until I would reach the bubble proper.

Systems visited: 191/8897 (2.15%)

The Grand Tour of Bright Star Catalogue, vol. 6

Took a little break participating in the defense of the Galactic Summit in Sirius. During the missions I visited couple of systems in the catalougue that resided within the Bubble. For the target of the next journey I chose Alpha Orionis, better known as Betelgeuse. One of the brightest and best known stars in the Milky Way lies 498 light years from Sol. It is a red supergiant close to the end of it's lifespan. It will be a spectacular sight visible throughout the galaxy when it finally ends it's life as a star in a supernova. On the way there stopped for a while to collet materials on 134 Tauri A 4.

The Grand Tour of Bright Star Catalogue, vol. 5

Back in the Bubble. At the first sign of Human civilization, I went to the first base that had a universal cartographics office to dump the data I had collected. Maybe next time I should head into a completely different direction. Maybe it's time to visit the Orion constellation.
