From the people who brought you the popular Apollo 11 and Apollo 15 Expeditions (The Mercury 7 Explorers)
A voyage to the darkest depths, and the brightest parts of the Milky Way, and beyond!!!
Passage To Andromeda, is a celebration of and a tribute to the exploration community of Elite itself. To all the pioneers, the event organisers, community project admins, the space crazy scouts, and most of all...you the explorers of Elite:Dangerous!
This is a journey from the foundations of CMDR Jameson's beginnings in the Lave system (Elite 1984), through the galaxy as visited by the vibrant multitude of Elite:Dangerous Expeditions that went before us. All the while continuing to explore, to blaze our own trail through this vast and unknown galaxy of ours. During the trip we shall encounter the ruins of the Guardian race, the 'Second Bubble' of Colonia, the community build station from Distant Worlds 2 of 'Explorers Anchorage', via the renown 'Beagle Point and many other breath taking and significant places.
Finally our final destination is the closest star to the galactic neighbour of Andromeda. The logical jumping off point for any future expeditions seeking to cross the seemingly endless wastes of inter-galactic space. This place is the mysterious Star One...
This is a time to discover wonderful new places, to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones.
We are an inclusive expedition, so we are flying in PC groups (Horizons 3.8 and Odyssey 4.0), and for consoles both Playstation and Xbox are accomodated.

These are the names of the expedition waypoints, with a short explanation of their significance:
1) Elite (first game)
2) Zulu (First to reach Sag A*)
3) Citizens (Colonia Citizens Network)
4) Frontier (second game)
5) Distant Suns (first galactic crossing)
6) Anthor (EDSM)
7) Distant Worlds (the largest expeditions)
8) Encounters (third game)
9) Array (DSSA)
10) Galactic (GMP)
11) Dangerous (present game)
12) Formidine (Formidine Rift Survey)
13) Cernan (last man on the moon)
The final waypoint will have a celebration of the final manned lunar landing to date, that of Apollo 17. This was originally due to be the finale of Apollo 17 Expedition, but was merged into Passage to Andromeda. It seems fitting to pay tribute to the mission that completed the Apollo Lunar program, and made Gene Cernan 'The Last Man on the Moon'. Afterwards, the expedition will end with the 'Passage to Andromeda'. Details of which will be available nearer the time.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
See you soon :)
Note: Waypoints and details subject to change, a FSD jump range of at least 45ly is required to cross the biggest voids while flying your own ship. And a good stock of Jumponium materials will be needed on the final leg of the journey. Although these are easy enough to find.
This expedition is finished.
