Save The Queen. The name given to my exploration and big rig mining vessel. She is an Anaconda Class, designed and built by Faulcon deLacy’s shipyards. We set out from Pallaeni to the Omega Nebula, on the first leg of Distant Worlds 2, at 8PM UTC, with thousands of other CMDR's in tow. Roughly 11,000 others! It isn't long after our first jump to a neighboring system, that all hell brakes loose! Our FSD performs an emergency shutdown and enters "safe" mode. Not a great start, but were off!

Hopefully after a false start, we won't encounter anymore mishaps like that. At first light on day 2 of our 300 day journey into the black unknown, we fire up thrusters and charge the FSD. Finally off, on a voyage of discovery! 16 jumps into DW2, my first stop and surface landing is in the Fine Ring Sector JH-V C2-4, for a stuning view of the Fine Ring Nebula. Also known as Shapley 1, which is a planetary nebula with a unique ring structure. Unlike most planetary nebula, the Fine Ring Nebula is non-bipolar and torus-shaped with a distinct blue color. As most nebula of this type are caused by the expulsion of the outer layers of the host star, the shape may indicate that the Wolf-Rayet class host star had a particularly violent expulsion event at a period of high rotational velocity. Time to get down on the surface in the rover, and grab the camera. Kop Out.
